I have a superhawk (v-twin 1000) that i ride a good bit in the summer. Love the bike but would like something more comfortable / useful for long days in the saddle. I have been eying BMW K100's for a while. A friend has one and loves it. Anyone here have or had one and want to share experiences?

Yep K100 is a nice bike to ride definitely a long distance machine...

issues with the laydown 4cyl engine though...lots of guys complain about oil consumption....:excuseme:

thats the only gripe I have heard...I would ask BMW Atlanta on here:excuseme:

yeah, i have heard the because the head is on the kick stand side a little oil can get into the cylinder when sitting for a while and then a small puff off smoke on startup. Might be looking at one tonight.

Congratulations, lets see some pictures and a ride report-I think the K750 and 1000 were a great concept, basically you can rebuild the whole engine on the side of the road.
