Rancho El Chale, just south of Tecate, within 15-20 minutes of the border. Great location in a valley with rocky technical trails up into the surrounding trails. Promoter said new stuff was on the menu!! This will be day 1 of my 2 day international racing weekend. And will be be the redempttion race for my Tractor HS DNF (2nd race on the TXC310R)

my 2nd race on the txc310r.....this time its 45+ open so line is bigger. about a 5.5 mile loop
my quick story dead engine start into a L 180 around a tree then 90 deg right up a short open section and into the single track. we were line 4 (pro-ex-30 vet-45+-intermediate- nov. I came out 4th from the start of @ 10-15 I'll check, the holeshot was Oscar former MX expert from Mex/USA Dave the Welshman in front of me and another guy between dave and oscar, Dave and I walked the first 1/2 mile or so and had the first rockpile dialed for a smooth line
. we dropped the 2nd place guy when he got tangled in the boulders and were running oscar dave me into the oak grove. up into the dry hard rock side hill section then a new section off camber uphill right in loose stuff oscar got hung in the loose stuff, dave and i around the outside of oscar. i followed dave for a while in some new stuff, but when we hit a section of the previous round a fast section with a left right around a low hanging oak dave went kind straight and I got him. I know dave is wicked in tough terrain and really wicked it up through all the new twisty and rocky stuff. I put a good gap on 2nd and 3rd. The txcr was just cutting like a knife and super fast where it could, the thing flat rips. I fell over on the oscar problem off camber and had a look back into the valley, I was way ahead of those guys. I pushed harder to keep a good cusshion. and smashed my shifter into my case on a rock.....stuck in first near the end of the lap,, I gambled and should have stopped at my pit....rode the next whole lap in 1st friggan gear (dumb move). dave finally passed me at about 3/4 of the lap and oscar got me just before i hit my pits. got help and we bent the shifter back off the case, I went out and just burned my last lap 7 my classmates got 8 laps in the pros got 9. I finished 3rd in 45+ open, I am very happy to join my respected classmates on the podium. Now we can drop names
Ivan R 1 Kato, Justin Morgan (fast local pro) 2 yz250, Noah Kepple Husky TXC310 (2012 model black head) 3rd and the man Larry Roeseler 4th on his KXF250F. the couse was a short course but super quality with a little bit of everything, hard clay embedded rocks, sand black hero dirt, oak groves ugly rock gardens manzanita etc etc .

Oh yea I forgot somehow Oscar ended up catching Dave and winning our class Oscar 1 Suzuki RMZ, Dave (Dai) KTM300xc, Rob TXC310R 3

One of our other extended crew members Brad started on the intermediate row behind us 45+ open old guys and he posted much better gopro hcam viddy, following our resident Frenchman enduro ace Cyril for the entire first loop and acually the entire race, they are both on kato 200s. Its a much better view from Brads cam. They ended up 1st and 2nd int. Thanks I have a line on one now, I will get it eventually (actually I have one but its an old pencil cam rig from friggan 10 years ago. I'll get the Brad cam up soon

Brad and our resident French Enduro Star Cyril (to us anyway) started on the row behind us, Intermediate class. Looks good for us old 45+pen guys we kept them off our backs!! (Good thing follow 45+ class qualified guy LR raced with the fast kids in the pro class!!)
They ended up 1 Cyril and 2 Brad both on Kato 200XCs. Brad got much better Hcam than my first post and has 2 segments for y'all to see what we choose to ride/race. I will refer to them as sandbaggers from now on....hahha. The best thing is that they were so evenly matched that Brad was with Cyril the entire viddy, makes for good viddy.

And continuing into the loop and they even pass the guy with other camera on the hill like we did.
