W/o a doubt the coolest MX race in history. if you've never been to Glenn Hellen? Go. The 1-2-5 Challenge was insane. KTM lead it all the way, Husky was 3 seconds back just pacing him. 2-3 laps to go he hammered by...won the race, and, a new CR125!! Hell yeh! It was nuts. So many old school pro names and faces, brother, leme tell ya they still have fine form and SPEED. Chuck Sun was killing it on a Husky CR125. He aint lost a bit, still pins it back and keeps it there 100% around every lap. Last lap he overshot the front stretch second double and took the fluffy line and the gloppy cushion way outside the groove scattering us like bowling pins sendin' mud, roost, people and stuff everywhere- and, never lifted, just pinned it WFO and braaaap! Next time by high-5'ved me on the off hootin'. Classic! Ty Davis got a "W" too and looked really smooth, put my buddy Pete on the trailer pretty quick. And, I found out the skinny on Tinken. Got to hang out with Ajax too, prep his gate, no one had more bikes there than him! Hahaha, he brought the whole quiver just in case he needed a bigger hammer! It was hard-core hall of famers, local racers, lots of start line smack talk and catching up too. And, lots and lots of braaaaap! It was nuts. Wow. WOW. What a day. Didn't go? You missed it. Big time. A who's-who of who's REALLY fast. I almost died from over-stoke. (My camera died. So I resorted to using my cell phone and it's a flip-phone so...aming was tough, seeing what i was shooting tougher. Sorry for the crappy quality gang.) Win this bike This guy won and did just that!!! (Clay- check his digits, 762? ) LAPD Chief Charlie Beck ,trying to hide from me......I see you copper! And that speeding ticket yuo gave me in the pits? Wait'll next week man! DIRT BIKE entry....
braaap! Ajax finishing up his first moto... Ajaxauto: Certified Husky/Race-a- holic..."all these husky's are belong to me!"
Factory tent...prettyest gals you ever did see workin' there...they recog'd my N/E Gathering 2010 shirt...gues they knww yot all back there (Hi Pat and Andy! from them). And they schwagged me a nice factory racing T-shirt...braaap! Braaap! Guess who's?
This who's! Getting ready to shred...."can't fake fast!" I'm holding his bike, he's grooming the launch. Hmmm... the thought did cross my mind...braaap! I kid Ty, I kid!!! I'm good luck, he got a W after this...weee! Think yer fast? Race this guy...This guy? He's my friend, my mortage broker, and pro-mx DIRT BIKE test rider for eons, Peter Murray. No one's faster on a vintage bike either. This dood FLY'S.
Peter Murray and Chuck Sun (bl/wt lid, sun glasses) chatting it up... Again, Sun is a smooth maniac. Gota see this guy rip. The view most of us mortals see....going bye-bye. Best day ever and I didn't even scratch the surface of all that went on.... They had a 4-T race too...well, PM me for comments on how that sounded. Miss the days of race gas and bean oils? When bikes sounded and smelled nice and were actually fun to ride? (winner of the open pro even said it was the most fun he'd had in forever)....well then..... Bring back the Braaaaaap!
I have both of my motos on video What the heck was I thinking signing up expert. There were 4 national champs on the expert line At least I had fun and the view was better then the one from the stands i also went around the track with my go pro during the pro race I will edit and post asap
ooops...take it back...just checked the results, error on my part. in +40 Exp: Ty went 2-3...there was a gent on a YZ250, so it dont count. that YZ wasn't a 125! so Mr. Davis still gets the "W" in my book for first moto, him and Mr. Murray were going at it...braaap! in +50 Exp: Mr. Peter Murray smoked 'em all (maybe i'll get a good rate on my refi tomorrow?). Mr. Sun got 4th overall and our very own smiling race-a-holic never-say-die Mr. Ajax got 11th overall. aint an esay crouse. you go up (and down) Mt. St. Hellens thrice a lap. and it gets hammered! i somehow got my camera to cough up a couple pics.... Mt. St Hellens...it's so not small. rider coming down looks like a spec! wicked nice vintage and it sounded awesome....back of saddle said "adios!" 125 husky rider during practice...really moving too and roosting big time. this track is FAST with monster climbs. race gas and good oil mandatory! great show boys. can't wait til next time... braaaap!
