Thought I'd give you an update on the WR refurb.

I bought it a while back off a guy who butchered it through neglect and idiot mechanical skills. Frame tabs were snapped, bolts threaded, bearings seized solid, forks dented - the list is too long. He even managed to crack the swing arm at the pivot end. Only one word to describe this guy's approach to maintenance - dangerous.

I took it back to the frame - blasted and powder coated it, repaired all damage and replaced worn parts (including swing arm). I've also hooked up a set of 49mm twin chamber Showa conventionals (retaining the original WR wheel). New seals, rubber, guards, suspension service etc.

It's on the home run now after reassembling the big bits. Now just detail stuff - mounting headlight, hand guards, new Fatty, repacking muffler. Hope to have it finished in a week.

    I'll keep you posted!

like it looking tidy, so many people dont know how to check oil let alone greese bearings and bolt torque settings.

It's a 2010. Hard to think it could get that scruffy.

You might want to also beef up the coil mount tabs, mine broke off i used some flat steel 1/4x1/8 and welded them to existing tabs(reweld'd broke one) and then weld'd straight to the frame,,also the front engine mounts cracked at the welds, fixed that problem too.. Nice looking rebuild!!!

The coil tab had broken on mine too. I like the sound of the mod you did - maybe next time round if my weld doesn't hold out. All engine mounts looked ok.
