Great pics! I was there and it was a blast; first time seeing a pro MX race live. Lots of RD fans in our clump of trees including me. I didn't see RD go down in the first race but he was closing when he did so. The Ryan's are in a class of their own for now.
I've only been to a couple races but its really cool seeing these guys go around the track with so much speed ... They are doing what most of us are trying to do ... Yep, the RyanS are doing it again ... I'm not surprised at that at all .... I've just started to watch the but the track looks really gnarly with big holes all over the place ... This is the second turn in moto 1 ... 4 front riders all cross over that small jump in completely different ways ...
This is the 2nd 450 moto ... If you like MX racing ... You'll like the riding here ... View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea6e4mP23NI
What surprised me the most was just how different the Ryans riding styles look in real life. RD looks like he's on a Sunday cruise and RV looks like he's running for his life. Two totally different styles and two FAST guys in a class of their own that day.
You can see that on film also .... RV looks like he over jumps alot out there also .... RD5 looks like he sits down and rides alot all over the track ... -- These guys MX champ (Glenn Aguilar) here reminds me of RD5 ... He just sits and rides and stays in front of everyone ...And if they ever do pass him, he turns it up and in a few turns, he passes them back and relaxes again in front at his pace ... Hardly ever makes any mistakes... The same can be said about RD5 as he rarely looks like he makes any mistakes ... I just keep watching them over and over and try to spot anything they are doing ... I'm just about convinced that they are just gassing that 450 and hanging on to the bars at times ...ESP on some of the passes that they are making...
You gotta luv that riding at the 1:50 mark and the stewart sandwich riding time ... I'll be looking for some interviews from the riders on this race .. Not gotta be surprised if things heat up a little more during the rest of this season ...
In the new online cycle news JS was questioned about his brother. Honestly, I was surprised by what he said. Basically Malcolm is getting really fast and they are about matched even on their private track. He said he couldn't find good lines around him and Malcolm was pulling around lapped riders better
Malcolm looked very good live and not afraid to change lines when he needed or wanted to pass. Very aggressive but not forcing things to the point of getting caught up in a wreck. I was very impressed with him. My grandson spoke with him in the pits and said he seems cool and liked to talk. I know he got a few pics of him too.
