O.K. fellow Husky lovers, Coffee and I have been kicking around the idea of Cafe Husky graphics for a while.

After giving this quite a bit of thought, I have widdled all my ideas down to my two best (for the time being). Admittedly, neither of us are the type of guy you could take shopping and get any straight foraward advice about which shoes go with which slacks or why the socks clash with the shirt. I just grab whatever is the shortest reach from the closet door in the morning. This morning it happened to be a long-sleeve sweat-wicking camo shirt and a pair of jeans that didn't have grease stains on them. Not exactly engineering dept. attire, but it's functional-the first objective of any engineering challenge and besides I'm the boss.

There are 2 pics of each color scheme attached below. The Grey/White scheme I'm calling Cafe Husky-Racing Stripe. The Black/White scheme I'm calling Cafe Husky-Victory Stripe (because the checkered flag is black and white-I know because a guy at the track let me see it once in exchange for a beer).

Pricing is not set as of yet. I will say this, the more commitments we can gather, the cheaper they will be, but that is a bridge we will cross when we come to it. For now, please do us a big favor and vote on which one you like the MOST. If it's close, well then, we'll just have to see what we can do to satisfy everyone.

Please remember, these are crude mock-ups (to say the least), but this is where I start when I'm trying to give my graphics guy a good idea of what I have in mind because it's fast and easy. The purpose of the pics is to give a good idea and starting point for the overall concept. Try to imagine what it will look like all gussied-up. I've seen graphics go from this stage to real life and have a pretty good idea of what they will look like in my mind judging from this mock-up and I'm leaning toward the "Racing Stripe", but it's really driving me nuts picking between the 2.

These will be offered for 04-07 TE/TC/WR/CR and 08-09 TE/TC/TXC/WR/CR, including the SMR's, but probably not TE610's (sorry).

Thanks for your help and for taking the time to participate in the poll.

Coffee and CH need a logo!

Its been something ive struggled with in coming up with a flannel shirt/jersey--what would the CH look like?

I had the idea of a stylized coffee mug, with the handle on the left, so it looked a bit like a C

    Just an idea for ya.

I will follow your lead on whatever logo CH comes up with for the racing jerseys and dual sport flannels. Nice going!

I have this vision of using the mug with the steam rolling off of it as the basis of the concpet for the graphics. I was thinking of using a glorified version of the current "mug" logo in there as represented by the mug I have sketched in. When we get to drawing up the actual proofs, we'll see what comes up.

I always thought a retro graphics kit would be cool.

Incorporating the chrome of the old tanks. maybe even the whole shroud is chrome--or maybe a chrome sticker for tank in the center of the shroud.

    Just some ideas.

I would love a black and gold set up like the 79-80 390's.

Flannel checks that end up with a twirling finish line flag?

Screaming wolf pack along the front fender?

Is it time for a beer yet?

Maybe I'm speaking the obvious here but make sure you put the ".com" after the Cafe Husky.

    I say Victory!

send me some pics of a couple different bikes.

I thought about that. It's hard to tell from the pic, but I was planning on putting it on the front fender tip. Maybe on the shrouds too, but I thought it looked better without it on the shrouds. I'm still thinking about this...

by the way, if anyone would like to donate an old set of plastics, I will install the graphics and take pics on my bike so everyone can see what it looks like on the bike. Actually, the way the poll is going, we might need 2 old sets...

You say no TE610, but you do say SM. Will that also be the SM610?

I took it to mean no 610 at all.

A lot of CafeHusky members have 610's...

I know, but nobody is really doing graphics for them and usually the guys that have the competition bikes are more likely to buy graphics. I could apply this to 610's (and all is what I meant when I said that) if I had the plastics for them. However, I would have to have them for a while. Ideally someone who lives in a colder climate that still had a while before bike weather arrives would the best fit for that situation. I didn't mean not to show any love for the 610's because heaven knows I want one badly, but I just don't have templates for them. Loaner plastic would be necessary, or if someone had some old plastic they had just replaced, but again, I would have to spend some time with it. I would have to have the side panels and probably the rad. shrouds and rear fender. If anyone knows what is different on the 610 from the rest of the bikes, please list it here in this thread. We'll see what we can do about rounding up some plastic.

Might I suggest - specify the models & years that you think would be best to start with. Once the design and other details are worked out for those, then the next step would be to do another round of graphics for other years/models.
  15. mxracernumber1 Husqvarna

    to start with

    Good idea.

The models we will begin with are as follows. Depending on the demand and the number of folks we can get commited to this up front, we will venture into the other models. Also, the more folks that commit to orders up front, the cheaper they will be. These will be top-quality graphics and the prices will be extremely reasonable if we get a good commitment. The # plates are integral with the rest of the graphics, so it would be difficult to sell the kits without the # plate graphics. Therefore, most likely, all kits will contain both backgrounds for a TE headlight plate as well as the standard MX front # plate for TC/TXC since the front # plate is the only difference between the bikes. 04-07 kits would include front # plate background for 04-07 TE as well as the TC and 08-09 kits would contain a front # plate graphic for 08-09 TE as well as the TC/TXC. CR/WR models are the same kit as all the 4-stroke models.

    2004-2007 TE/TC 250, 450, 510
    2004-2008 CR/WR 125, 250
    2009 CR/WR 125, 250, 300
    2008-2009 TXC/TE/TC 250, 450, 510
    2004-2007 SM models 450, 510
    2008-2009 SM models 450, 510

Is this what you mean? If so can someone confirm the 2008 2st have the same plastics as the 2004-2007 4st?

    Kit 1 for:
    2004-2007 TE/TC 250, 450, 510
    2004-2007 SM models 450, 510
    2004-2008 CR/WR 125, 250

    Kit 2 for:
    2008-2009 TXC/TE/TC 250, 450, 510
    2008-2009 SM models 450, 510
    2009 CR/WR 125, 250, 300

And both kits will have both MX & light front plate graphics.

    that is correct

By the way, the poll is running too close to call at the moment. I see lots of views on the thread, but we need more votes to settle this thing. Come on everyone, rock the vote!

    Anyone?

My take on the situation is - not enough information from the poll to decide which one. If it were me designing the graphics I'd sit down with a graphics designer and play with both a bit more - starting with the 2nd one.

A lot of tiny subtle things determine how appealing graphics are that really cannot be commented on with the level of detail now shown.

True, I was voting on the color scheme mostly, as the designs weren't terribly detailed.
