I am not useing my turn signals but am about to install heated grips. I notice that without the lights that the indicator remains solid, can I wire left turn for high and right turn for low and have it work? Any advice or knowledge on the subject would be great. thanks. Eldgen
Why not just dedicate wire for the grips back to the battery and fuse the circuit? That's the proper way to go. The turn signals go through a flasher/relay, so not the way to go.
I am trying to make a trick setup, can I bypass the flasher relay so it does not blink? I am real anal about cleanliness and functionality so having a useless turn signal switch and indicator is a little annoying, However having a high/low/off heated grips switch that turns on and off with the key as well is a stroke of genius. If anyone can tell me how to bypass the relay or give me good direction on finding out how I would appreciate it. Thanks. Eldgen.
If you want to get real trick add a heat troller and dump the hi/lo switch. They have an LED indicator and off position. I assume you could wire it through the switched circuit of the bike.
Just finished the install, super easy. On the 08 TE the relay is behind the left side plastic and is the furthest thing twords the rear. It has two wires going in to it, I disconnectd it and jumped the wires with an inline fuse holder and 5 amp fuse. Then I went to the tripple clamps and tied into the original turn signal ends and done. Once I located the turn signal relay the rest took me 5 minutes to do. It works great, no extra switches and with the turn signal indicator light on the trip computer you always know if they are on or not. Eldgen.
g'day all, I have been trying to fix an indicator problem with my 06 TE250 and have created more problems! The switch now appears to be faulty and I don't know how to put it back together??? Can anyone help?
