I have the older version of this, an insulated 70oz camelbak. Specifically used as a backup inside a back pack. http://www.camelbak.com/sports-recreation/hydration-packs/Stoaway-70-oz.aspx The seam has split... and the web site advertises "Lifetime Warranty". Does anyone have any experience with getting a replacement?
I emailed them about a warranty bladder of mine and they never got back to me. For under 30 bucks I found two Camel back close out back packs with bladders at Sports Authority. I figured WT heck, Get new stuff. Chipper Chicken then waiting for a new bladder under warranty. I needed them any way for the kids.
hmmmm.... that does not sound good at all. Although I've no idea what you mean by 'chipper chicken'. I'll send them an email just in case something will come from it.
Quote from "Father of the Bride" we (wife and I) use it for Cheeper! If you have seen the movie you will remember it was the cheeper reception dinner.
gott watch out for those life time warranty's I'm in the apartment biz, we use a window treatment company for vertical blinds that advertises "lifetime" warranty. when the plastic bits started breaking I called about the warranty ... turns out only the head rail is warranteed ... thats the extruded aluminum piece that all the bits go on .. wtf its extruded aluminum .... of course it will last forever ... a holes!!!
http://www.camelbak.com/customer-service/warranty-information.aspx Depends on what "normal wear and tear" means. Give it a shot.
Hey folks, just an FYI on hydration bladders, I've broken 3 camelbacks and switched to MSR's Hydromedary bladders. I bought mine locally and after almost 2years it's been bulletproof. Worth the extra coin IMO as it sure beats a wet butt on a 90degree day in the middle of nowhere. Camelback's warranty is really good and they replaced mine once under warranty after the hose began to leak at the bladder. The next failure was due to my "flying turtle" imitation which the pack took the brunt of the fall. Popped that sucker like a water balloon!
I've had the same 100 oz Camelbak for over 10 years! I've used it for mountain biking, snowboarding and MX'ing. I too have done the "flying turtle" maneuver several times and the thing will not pop or leak! I also have an Ogio model that I don't like as much...came with the Ogio Flight Vest. David
They replied to my email! Apparently the newer bladders have a lifetime warranty, and I must have just missed the change over about 2 years ago. Mine is smooth and translucent blue and the ones with the life time warranty are textured. Because this was an auxiliary camelbak I may seek alternative solutions, possibly go back to using water or Gatorade bottles. They got back to me at least.
$58.00 to replace a bladder! http://www.camelbak.com/sports-recreation/accessories/omega-dlx-res-flowmeter-70oz.aspx I'd prob'ly start looking around too.
I saw them on Amazon much cheaper, and my guess would be stores have them for much less too. The MSR sounds quite interesting, I like their products.
