Holy crap! Pela Renet hauling the mail through rocks, sand and gullies. View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=YfylWCvzCog
Yes. For about 5 seconds, followed by a trip to the emergency room. This video really shows how well these guys set up there bikes. He is just rolling over jagged rock lips like they are not even there. I think I like the new rule and view of the camera mounted to the bike instead of the helmet. I don't seem to learn anything from the helmet mounted cameras, but I learned a lot from this video. I will forget it all when I hit the trail or track, but it is in my head at the moment.
no is the answer to that question and 99.99% pro riders in the entire world could not ride that fast in that special test. PS that was bitchen.
That bike took in everything with ease at big speeds and slower. Heard maybe one or two shifts, some motor there.
I thought I could do it on relatively flat sections with no turns. I was actually thinking of this viddy last Saturday as I wrapped it around on a 2 track trail with a good half mile of visibility. Looked at my go pro footage the next day and realized...nope not quite.
Wich one 1250 miles or 24 hours probably do the 1250 miles in 19 hours or 12 cus hes twice asfast as i can ride lol
Looks like a pretty cool course, but it didn't look overwhelmingly fast to me. Video can be deceiving, but I'd like to see his average recorded speeds. Our h&h courses out here are more difficult and the pro's avg 55-70mph on them.
Shoot..... I could blast out of that gate. On some of the straits, I might hit half his speed for two or three seconds
sorry all this talk has got me in huff, all this video is the world champion #1 enduro rider in the world the E2 Champ, his times were the OA the ISDE winning times, that's faster than all of our fastest trophy team guys . Numbers are fact Pelas time beat Robert, Brown etc etc. This is the guy who ripped his combined specials (OK not every special test) faster than anyone at the event. so no as far as endure offroad guys go I don't think anyone in the world is faster.....I said enduro/offroad guys, because I remember Mr. MXGP 10x winner Stefan Everts showing up in Brazil and OA that ISDE without too much pressure from all the regular WEC guys.
PS Pela Renet was a MX3 (open) world champ and top tier MXGP and French Nat MX racer up until a few years ago, before he went to world enduro. http://www.scorpionsports.eu/english/riders/sponsored-riders/pela-renet/pela-renet.html
As someone else said.. Yeah, I could got that fast for maybe , one straight section. Then the obligatory crash, broken collar bone, heart attack and I'd need a crash cart, oxygen and morphine! Sheesh.... Showoff!
Well yes he probably can i reckon, whether or not he is that insane or not is a different deal. I fantasized about riding at that speed in those conditions and had a nose bleed. The ISDE is really the true test of talent or the WEC also. Not to discredit the H&H series at all. What ever; that sombitch is good[great]
So he's stepped down to race ISDE? Is he racing the Extreme Enduros against Jarvis or Webb or has he found his niche in these other races Not knocking him as very few riders attempt different disciplines at the same time and some just prefer to specialize.
It's not just Renet, have a look at the top placings in the ISDE with only seconds seperating and at times others winning sections. Different disciplines? Stefan Merriman the little Kiwi comes to mind being a world enduro champ coming from trials for one.
