Hooked up with my CRF450 buddy at Carnegie yesterday and within five minutes we somehow got seperated. I think the hills scare him. This clip ends with me taking a hard fall. I lived to tell about, obviously. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z340FQEwqjk&feature=c4-overview&list=UULTcPir9hLIM0LjjKMQ8qdw
Kind of a wild looking place to ride! -- On that crash, that rut (ditch?) must have been very deep you hit with the front wheel...
Yes, it was a deep rain trench. Much bigger than it looked on vid. Luckily I landed in soft grass and, with the exception of two bruised and very sore thighs, I came out unscaved. Same thing happened a few years ago there on my 610 where I hit a ditch, flew over the bars and landed on hard dirt and separated my shoulder. I got lucky this time. Bike's ok too.
Its hard to see what is going on most of the times on any video I watch. Seems like they all just turn out flat or 1 dimensional, no matter how clear the video. That grass looked as good a place as any crash. I always, always consider the land zone around when riding. Usually best to hit and roll to absorb the impact.
