RIP Mr Shelby not motorcycles but man did he have a hand in american motorsports and sportcar performance! i beleive it was ferrari that they dethroned back in the day iirc.
Here is a line from Wiki that sort of shows the scope of this guy .. After retiring from driving in October 1959 for health reasons, he opened a high-performance driving school and the Shelby-American company.
My favorite picture of him racing was, late Fifties 24 Hours of Lemans (Which he won), driving an open cockpit Aston Martin. These were the days when many drivers still didn't wear driving suits, polo shirts were popular attire.... Caroll's wearing pin stripe bib overalls! American Rural Cool!
That he did. He even ran Safari tours in Africa for awhile, and lived longer than any other heart transplant recipient The Texas chicken farmer shows the Euros how it's done...American style!
