He decided to shut it down: «At this point in my career, I needed to make a choice of which hat I was going to wear moving forward: a team owner or rider. I can't be both. I've been living and working at an unsustainable rate and I've emotionally, physically, and financially exhausted myself.». However, let's take a look at that wonderful place: I'd like to point out that, as far as I've undestood: -they have a specific bike just for the dyno, -in indoor supercross, they rebuild the engine and the suspensions every two races, while in outdoor motocross they do it every race! -after a race outdoor, "the whole bike is pretty much junk" and so they replace brakes, linkage bearings, etc., -they build their own, stronger parts, including the crankshaft!.
Those are not stock bikes for sure ... From what I've read through the last couple yrs, that suspension is a little hard for all of them and once set to the point the rider likes it, the riders seem to say "let it alone' ... There are even recent examples of riders tossing current forks for another brand(?) that worked for them in the recent past... Full factory riders may not have that luxury ... And yep, you hop this machine up as fast as humanly possible and then give it to a 17yr old and tell him to go really fast on it ... Guaranteed to sell tickets! Their recipe for racing has all but eliminated a broken bike during a race ... Air forks and shocks are about the only part I can remember breaking and stopping a racer. -- All those bikes and parts just shows a small example of how much money these guys have at their disposal ... I'm not surprised they have plenty ...
