Talked to John @ JNS Engineering about a chain guard for the Terra/Strada. They do skid plates and chain guards for KLRs & DRs. Sure it's a bling item. A clear anodized guard would look pretty spiffy on the Terra/Strada. Just comparing the guards they do for the other bikes, I'm guessing these would probably be in the $50-$60 range. I'm sure they won't require a very big qty. to start a batch.

Just so everyone is on the same page, this would be an aluminum replacement of the stock unit.

Looks very nice as far as chain guards go. But I agree with Kiwiape that a chain guide would be a more useful mod for the TR.

I would much rather have a guide as well.
Like i said the guard is definitely a bling thing. Where as a guide would be useful.
John from JNS was talking about powdercoating the guard, i'm not into that, got to be anodized.

I've had a BRP chain guide on hand almost since I bought my Terra but have yet to fabricate a mount for it. BRP makes both left and right hand guides for Huskies. It comes down to welding on or bolting on. The swing arm is a squished five sided affair and that is a bit of an issue for a home made mount. Weld on is probably the best. Some day.....

As to the chain guard, it looks great, but unless it is made from pretty thick material I would worry about fatigue cracking.
