So....after reading that a few of you have put a 52 tooth rear sprocket on your 125, in place of the stock 50 tooth one, I decided to do the same. My question is should I run the stock chain length, or should I get a slightly longer chain? I guess what I really want to know is how much the shorter wheelbase will affect the handling of the bike overall. Ya know, like if the bike will exhibit any twitchy manners, or any other anomaly, that might require that I run a couple links longer chain.

I changed chain and cut to suit but don't think it would make much Difference. Probably helps turning
With new 13 model 125 running well i don't want to change to 52. Thinking its too short as is up top
It pulls so well with a fatty and rb designs carb i think I could go other way especially when it gets 165'd

I still run the stock chain you can go 50 no problem plus you can even go 12/52 same chain My 165 that Walt built him self and runs perfect runs 13/52 for wide open desert and everywhere else Except LDS and KOM
Check out my latest video I just posted I changed to 12/52 and had so much fun
I is nice to have the 12 around you can change it in a few minutes if the area get really tight

I went out to a fairly technical area yesterday with the new sprocket installed. I liked the difference it made in the rocks.

Just for the fun of it try a 12 /52 I bet you love it and do not change back any hill and rock garden is so much fun. Lets face as we get older high speed is not that much fun. But we still love to ride so with the low gearing it open up places we never thought we could go and if we go there it is at low speed and super fun.

I've run 12/50 12/52 for years on my 125's I like the rear wheel forward I feel it corners better in the tight stuff and seems to transfer weight better in the technical areas. You give up some top speed but can lay it down in the tight sections with anything 2 or 4 stroke.
