I am purchasing a new guide, chain, and sprocket due to wear from the chainguide. I cant notice the grinding when spinning the wheel or when riding but the damage is obvious. The masterlink clip is almost gone
Is there a better chainguide or do I need to adjust the new one somehow. 20130519_114129.jpg 20130519_114129.jpg 20130519_114149.jpg 20130519_114204.jpg 20130519_114248.jpg

You could try a TM Designworks or a BRP unit it may help.

Have you checked to make sure your wheel bearings and spacers are OK,,that looks like an alignment issue

I'm pretty sure the alignment is not off by much. The damage could be caused by the chain guide being bent though, it is quite possible that it has suffered a hit.
It's pretty much time to service everything but the engine.
I do like the TMD guide but saw they did not offer the replaceable wear plate for Huskies.
I am open for suggestions on the chain and sprocket. Thanks.

The later stock Husky part is all plastic / nylon or what ever they make them from ! is really inexpensive - has more clearance so no more masterlink damage
Seems to hold up real good

I suggest Krause- Sidewinder sprockets and chain,,his stuff is pretty much Bullet Proof. I have his components on my Honda since 07,have never had to replace my sprockets at all 1-630-513-1000 Same for the BRP chain guide!!!

my chain & masterlink looks exactly the same so im fairy sure its the chain slider(bit around the swingarm). i looked for the red tm designworks slider to match my chain guide & even emailed them(with no response) but couldnt find them anywhere???

Two things i have noticed on your pictures.
    1. Oil on the chain mixed with sand = high wear on the clip, so if you run in lots of sand dont oil the chain when in use, the o rings in the chain keep the dirt out of the most important link pins.
    2. The clip does not look that worn.

You could try using the husky enduro roller guide setup, has worked for me for many years with no derailment.

Also when you next change the chain move to rivet links, fit and forget, been using them for years.

is it not supposed to have a few cm gap between the guide and the sprocket i thought that looks way to close, my enduro style one is about 3" away from sprocket no derailment and no wear... just a thought

ok just looks close to me, are the rollers at front top an bottom still working no chaffing up the front sprocket end? i always instal the master link facing the sprocket so it looks like a solid rivited chain from the outter facing side, dont know if that would sort your problem out, failing that is the wheel or guide slightly out of alignment?
