Has anyone found a set of bigger/wider pegs that don’t require a mortgage to purchase?
I have been spoiled by picking up super cheapo pegs off of ebay for lots of other bikes in the past.

I also would like an answer to this one...$180 for pegs seems outrageous!

I have the BMW 1200 adventure pegs. I did have to file the width of the mount a tad.

The SW-Motech pegs I'm using were only slightly less outrageous at roughly $160.

I'm pretty sure there are some low buck options if you're willing to spend a bit of time to see what other bikes share similar peg mounting dimensions. Foot pegs are kinda universal and I've found many will swap between bikes.

I ran the factory Suzuki DR650 steel cleated pegs on my KLR650 and they are cheap and not too bad. Looking at them I'm willing to bet they might fit the TR also. From some basic searching I "suspect" the foot pegs from a Vstrom might also fit (don't hold me to it) which opens up more options. I found reference to IMS pegs which look pretty good for $80.

You can get all sorts of cheap options for the DR/KLR like these for $16.

    Baddrapp's post shows what's possible.

Yeah - true - I had IMS pegs on my KLR years back, they were a huge improvement over stock. Thanks

I am going to bring this up again.
Anyone found an affordable, readily available set of larger pegs yet?

Finding cheap used BMW pegs is like finding Big Foot.

I just got a set in from d2moto on ebay, for my xr250. I'll check if they might fit. I bought some for my dr200 and they were great, cheap. I also bought some for my Bashan 250, and I think that is a direct fit to the TR650. One of them should fit close enough to work.

I'm just a bit leary of the cast footpegs that come. Hit a rock a bit hard, and you might be having a bit of trouble on that side.

I understand the d2moto type pegs may not be the most durable, but I have had good luck with them.
For sub $20 they are good enough and I am not a rock basher.

I think these are from/for a DR350. There are some things you would have to modify, look at the pictures. I'm not running them on my bike, I just put them on to show you. They were $8 from china and are aluminum. Ebay has some now for around $10-$12. These are for my Bashan Storm, and needed small mod for that bike. (shim)

The pegs sit flat and ride on that screw for the brake switch, the other side is similar, so some sort of shim would be needed for durability.

Looks like I need to wash the dirty girl up real good, lol.

Here is a pick of the stock Terra pegs alongside the new pegs. Different config, but works, just need to shim up behind peg to keep it level.

Second pic is from underneath, showing what need shimming. If left like it is, I'm sure the bolt head would wear the peg stop and then the pegs will sage. On my Storm, I just put a shim there to distribute the pressure evenly, so some sort of spacer would need to be made for both sides.

These may work as well, seems to be alot of interchangeability in these

Great info, thanks for taking the time to do this.

You are not sure what model those were originally for?

Do you think it might be feasible to cut or grind off the boss on the back side that the spring rides around?
I am wondering if I can kill 2 birds with one stone by lining up the peg stop better and move the pegs back slightly (and down a little too).
I am thinking I will make or find a spool to put in front of the peg and swap the spring to the forward side.

They do sit lower than the stock ones, right?
    Maybe a little forward?

it wouldn't take much to hacksaw off the boss and move it to the other side. But like Engineer says, these are not quality, and the aluminum ones may break just by tipping over. A friend had one on a bike that was a bit twisted and he tried to straighten it and it just disintegrated. The cast steel would be a little stronger, but the material strength would still be in question. These bikes are a bit on the heavy side, so they can break things easy.

I'm fairly sure I was looking for pegs for the DR200, but some of the guys who run the dr200 said they used dr350 pegs, and I went in search. I checked my old emails from the auctions, and I did buy for a dr250. But did I leave those on the bike, and what did these on the china bike come from. But I think they are all the same, or close enough. Bolt size I think was bigger on the other ones.

If you get the cheap ones, at least you can cut them up without worry, lol.

    Thanks again.

Yea, I would shy away from those aluminum ones.
I have bought similar looking steel ones in the past for various bikes around the $20-30 range.
None of those failed, but it is an extremely rare case when I drop/tip over my bikes, most never get dropped.

Ogre: Keep at this and keep us posted! Seems like a reasonably priced DIY option, particularly if someone else figures it out and posts pictures. :) Then I can durability test them, because I DO occasionally tip over.

    How much is a tad?
I finally found a set of GS Adventure pegs, but there is no way they are fitting in the mounts.
It looks to me like I have to grind off at least 1/4" and after that I am not sure the spring is going to fit.
Also it looks like the extra width is all on the forward side of the pegs, which is not what I was hoping.:(

Well I broke down and ordered Moose Racing Hybrid pegs with 1/2" rear offset, which are not at all cheap but less than other options. My left OEM peg had been bent slightly and had a crack. I could have welded it but wanted something better anyway. Installed and road tested yesterday - no issues except I need new cotter pins. Fit was perfect.

    Scott,

Did you buy the ones noted for the BMW GS bikes?
    Can you post some photos?
Do you notice the rear offset?
I have been tempted to get the slightly cheaper Moose Onyx pegs.

Funny my cotter pins denigrated when I tried to take them off.

Itty bitty cotter pins, too! I had none that small (1/16th in.) but swung by hardware today and got 8 - four of the same length and 4 somewhat longer.

They are for BMW bikes. Here's the product info from Revzilla:
