Can anyone point me to or write up the best way to check fork sag? I've been doing it the same way I would do the shock, but stiction gives me some pretty big variances.

Should I be warming the suspension up before doing this?

I don't check sag much on my forks because of this same issue. But when I did I always bounced several times before measuring.

Put all your gear on. Mount the bike and stand on pegs in riding position. Have a helper push down on bars to compress forks and release. Measure. Have helper pull up on bars to extend forks and release. Measure. Split distance between measurements and get your sag. Paraphrased from Race Tech Suspension Bible.
