I hate buying chinese stuff when there is an alternative, here are the numbers. Can get a set of radiators on e-bay for $100-125, one from husqvarna is about $160, set would be about double that. Little chance OEM are made in the USA, and I don't think they are all that tough either. US made units seem to be way up there, and I know you get what you pay for, but also think you have to be somewhat competitive. Are the chinese radiators any good? GP
One of the problems I have seen is they think that all huskys use the same radiator so you may get ones with the connectors in the wrong place or going the wrong way.
Thats not where i would look to save a few bucks. In fact better to spend a little more there and get really nice ones with the thick core and hand tig welded out of thicker aluminum. I can get you a deal on these but they are still slightly over $200 per side. http://www.fpsracing.com/husqvarna.html http://www.fpsracing.com/index.html My opinion only.
This is just me, but if there's an alternative that's manufactured in the USA, I buy it. Period. China is DEAD ASS LAST on my pecking order of what countries to buy from... for obvious reasons. Don't want to start a shitstorm, but China owns this country already. It cheats in the global market place. It manipulates its currency. It could give a shit about this country. I wouldn't piss on a Chinese business man's face if his teeth were on fire! I'll be going to the bathroom for a Prozac now...
yeah, I know, I try to buy US when aver I can. Don't mind spending more when I know it is made here and it is a better product. Kelly, I will check out your link, I have your guards, will they fit over a thicker core?(2010 tc250)
Did you know that Husqvarna 450-511 engines are made by Kymco. The Chinese are producing more and more of the things that we in the civilized world is demanding. I cant say that i like it , but that it is how things is these days. Just think about it, if you had 100 millions children working for you, wouldent you take advantage of it. I dont support the explotaion of minors at all, dont get me wrong. That is why i dont buy any mercandise from countries that i know support children labour. http://www.kymco.com/news/content.asp?NewsId={90EC11BF-AD91-45A7-BCE2-D72F576238BC}
I am thinking Kymco is in Taiwan, not that it is much different. I may just buy OEM, at least it supports the dealer.
I must confess I ordered some non-US radiators for my son's RMZ450 to cure the overheating issues of riding it in he woods. Ultimately it didn't matter. Evan's coolant did. But they were well built, looks like they are 5x stronger than stock and bolted right up. We don't have braces on his bike, so I'm not sure if they hit, but I would say they would with a little body English .
