What do you guys typically do to restore the chrome panel on your tanks? Can they be polished (and if so, can you share your process) or do you usually have them re-plated? Something else???

    Thanks,

Apparently no one knows. These things happen on forums sometimes. I'm sorry about that.

Maybe someone will share their information or possibly someone in the future will join and answer.

Sorry, been traveling. Most guys I know just polish the heck out of them but be careful, the metal can get thin pretty quick. No way to chrome them as paint won't adhere.

I've seen the Husky junk tank decals on my friends 79 & they look
good, but there's nothing like the original polish area. If your using
it on a racer they look nice, better then having the paint wore away
like most Husky tanks, but there's a noticable difference if your doing
    a restro.

But like Leftcoast leftkicker said watch as the tanks are thinner
    than they look .

i came across the husky junk decals after making the post. that may be an option since i plant to "restore-to-ride" rather than show my bike. thanks for the feedback guys!
