clutch kit for '87-88 Huskys...

Don't know if guys with late 80's Huskys know this... so posting just in case.

I picked up a couple of Barnett Clutch Kits for my '87-88 bikes. I ordered them from Hall's. I don't know if the kit will fit other model years.

It's a special kit Hall's had the clutch guys at Barnett make up. It's not listed on Barnett's web site.

Note: the kit only comes with 5 springs, the 430 will take 6 springs. I run 4 springs.

It has improved a friend's 430 clutch disengagement at idle... no more stalling when you pull in the clutch.
I have not installed it yet, but will be.

the 250s about done i'd do the 430 i but i'll hafta hit a big one too have the time and the money ok mostly money to do do it it would be kool to have a pair but i dont think i'd ride it much i had my 430 already it was fun i need to rework the bathroom not restore another husky

ok im a bit confused here...you only run 4 of the 6 springs?? and theres a problem stalling when the clutch?
the main issue ive encountered is the drag the aluminum plates have..i have been running phils 6 spring clutch with steel plates, and along with proper adjustment i have had no drag. i see phil gets his from barnett as well..does this kit come with metals too? bizarre its made for the 87-88 bigger clutch and doesnt have enough springs.

Yea, funny it only has 5 springs. I will call Hall's and ask them.
I know an old pro who runs 4 red/orange color springs in his 430 with no slip. Says less bite on the clutch is good, better to slip the clutch than damage the motor if you were to punch it too hard. So I may give it a try.

I have 2 bathrooms and a kitchen to remodel. I better quit this Husky stuff !

Can you get just the steel plates from Halls? I have quite a stockpile of original friction plates that are useable to me. They look like the sureflex ones I got for the Norton not like the picture above.

sweet, thanks for putting a part number to these. the steel plates seem to work much better than the aluminum.
