Time for a new clutch cable and perch. I have read the comments about the benefits of the terminator clutch cable. Can someone tell me which part # will give me the correct length for fit? I have seen a few listed on various posts, so not sure which is correct. OR if someone has a custom length, what length and why? And...who stocks them? or did you buy direct?

Also, clutch perch time. The threads on my stock perch are stripped out so I was going to just get an MSR or Pro Taper off RMATV, but open to suggestions if someone has a strong opinion on a good clutch perch as well. Looking for durability and smooth pull.

    Thanks

My buddy and I have both just switched to the Cycle Gear house brand, Trackside Snapback Clutch lever assembly: http://www.cyclegear.com/TRACKSIDE-Snapback-Clutch-Lever-Assembly
We've also got their brake levers on our bikes. He has a KDX, I have a WR 250.
It's a very nicely machined part. The clutch perch comes with a Teflon insert so the clutch rotates out of the way. I've had mine on for just over two months, no problems, several crashes no damage. Price can't be beat.

I would have put them on my TE 511 also, if I had known about them prior to spending the $100s on the failed MME lever, and then the refurbished ASV. Have to say the refurbished ASV is also a killer deal. And that, too, is a nice product. But I had to modify the ASV brake lever to make the OEM brake light switch work.

After seeing the quality of the Trackside stuff, I couldn't recommend anything else, though. ARC and non-refurbish ASV are just so expensive.

Very cool! Cycle Gear has a store here in Auburn, so that is perfect. I appreciate the feedback. Are you using the stock cable? Or the terminator that has received good reviews?

You can go to the MotionPro site and find the correct part. I bought mine direct, $39.99 + shipping  , part # 10-0154 for 2012 model. It is the most HD cable I've ever seen for a bike. Also just installed Moose EZ3 perch and lever. It has adjustable leverage, very nice quality.
Both parts made in the US. :applause:

Only one short ride in the snow and ice with the new parts, but both seem to be excellent. I have Rekluse EXP 2 installed and clutch pull seems better with the new setup, but need to ride some more to be sure.

    good luck

I have the stock cable in there right now. But I have a Venhill Teflon coated cable sitting in the garage for that rainy day that has yet to happen. I also did the clutch actuating arm mod. I cannot believe how well it works! Cost me about $4 in bolts and nylock nuts! Used a piece of aluminum I already had in the garage to extend the arm.

BTW, if you decide to do the brake lever too, there is a tiny link below the price that says "size chart" follow that. The table shows part #s for both clutch and brake levers for different applications. I went with the KTM brembo:

I recently sold my hydraulic clutch to another guy here on CF and went back to my stock cable with ASV perch so I could put a rekluse on it. I was bracing for pull to be really bad again. But my reaction when it was back on was "seriuosly"-the clutch pull was maybe 10-15% harder. Thats it. I had it on so long I forgot the clutch pull of the stocker isnt really all that bad.
Now Iwatch...I will be mad at myself for not getting a rekluse sooner.

One thing i've noticed is the angle of the arm has a noticable impact on pull. Screwing the adjuster on the clutch lever all the way in and then doing the clutch free play adjustment per the manual yields the lightest pull for me.
