    Hello from Barcelona - Spain!

I have to change my stock Metzeler Sahara from my Terra (5200 Km / 3250 miles). I’m using the bike only for the weekends riding 60/70 % off road, tracks and trails in bad shape, wet and mud. The rest 30/40% are winding roads to back home.
I’m thinking to mount Conti TKC 80 instead Metzeler Sahara because I think that knobby tires will be better for my use of the bike.
Before making a decision I would like to hear from those already using Conti TKC 80.

Thanks mates! See below a pic of my Husky

Lot of good talk about the Mitas', depends on what you want to spend, they are pretty spendy
The latest hot tire talk is the Golden Tyre 216, full on knobbie, works everywhere, lasts and lasts, it's and extra fat front tire, no matching rear tire, cheaper than Mitas
I just ordered the a front TKC80 and a Kenda 270 rear, a buddy was running that combo on his 610 and liked it, $135 shipped
I dont have that many miles on my Terra, but can wait to get the Sahara's off

Over here in OZ, l had both frt and rear e09's fitted for under $400, which is about the going rate. I used to runa Kenda on my
Xr600 and loved it, but got a little slippery on off camber cornerss

I'm using the Kenda K784's on my bike. Back digs in and hold's the road like crazy. The front is just plain scary. Wanders all over, grooved roads are like trying to ride on ice. Trying to wear that bugger out so I can change it.

I've been running the TKCs front and rear for about 2500 miles. The are a really good tire for everything I've thrown at them. In the loose stuff they like to be aired down especially in the rear. Cornering is good and they break away about when you would expect.

just got my TKC80 on front wheel. Wohoow - much better on gravel... Set the stabilizer on 4 and it never wobbles as well.

    Metzeler still on the rear...

Hi mates! Today I have tested my new TKC80s and also new sproket of 14 tooth, and wooooooowwww it's like a new machine! Sincerely strongly recommend this tires for dirt use, I have been riding in the forest with very mud and I'm very very satisfied. Also I rided about 100 km by road and seems very secure, of course the knobby make an small vibration but I think that no problem to ride 200/300 km without problem in the bottom.
Also the new 14t sprocket allow much better ride in off-road, I'm very very happy with the new performance of my Terra. I sincerely recommend this comibination of tires and sprocket.

I ran around like that(front TKC only) for a while after I ruined the Metzeler riding it out off the trail flat for about 25 miles. It was an improvement, but the rear is a much bigger difference.

Front looks almost new with about 3500 and rear is about half worn with about 2700. I figure the rear is a 5k tire and the front is a 10k tire.
This is pretty representative of my off road terrain. Which is about half my riding.

I have the TKC's on my Strada and I ride it like a dirtbike a lot of the time. They are great off road tires imo...

Hey NLFireblade, what pressure you running on your Strada? I also use my Strada the same, but am currently running the MitasE09s.

A lot of road riding in between dirt sections so I set both at 30psi. Seems to ride great like that.

Hi NLfireblade, very nice pics really, your Strada looks very aggressive and powerful with the Contis! I'm imagine that if you have an Strada you ride speedy by road, can you share your feedback of this Contis on road? I'm a little worry about how perform this tires on road specially on wet asphalt. Are you use the same pressure on dirt and on road ?

    Thanks

I use the same pressure on street and dirt. Seems fine to me. On the street, once moving, they don't feel like knobby tires at all. I ride it pretty aggressively in the turns and I don't shy away from leaning it over. I ride a sport bike too and I love turns!
The only thing I am finding is that, at highway speeds, I sometimes get a little speed wobble. It doesn't appear to be dangerous. I can make it happen at will. I've researched this and apparently you can solve this by stiffening the rear shock and/or spring. I am going to try this before my next ride. My friend, who owns the blue/white gs in the pics had a similar experience with a knobby tire on his bike.
That said, last year I had an Aprilia SXV550 and I put these tires on it and didn't have this issue...
