I was there and tried racing... Unfortunately a dead battery kept me from participating. I hope you had fun and enjoyed yourself! These races are great!
Was it running well when you first got there? I think I may have crossed paths with you (tc449) on the main road in the pits
Sorry to hear about the dead battery. I only did the parade lap and then had to leave. Long story that's not even worth explaining lol
We may have crossed paths? It wasn't running until me and a buddy were able to bump start it. Did that twice (first time it stalled out) but i didn't trust it enough to risk stalling out on the course and having to push the bike back however many miles. I was told i was the lucky one for not being able to be out there racing in the heat lol. Im just glad it wasn't actually in Idaho Springs and this happen, then i would have been really upset.
I meant that we may have passed each other. There was trail that went through the pits (I was parked in the way back). When I was riding through pits I passed an older TE that was riding towards the back of the pits. TE's are easy to spot at a race . Anyway, sorry about the luck. Are you planning on running another race with CORCS? I may do the Corral Bluffs race in September. It's another hare scramble rather than a GP style race. The heat shouldn't be an issue in September too lol.
Very well could have been me lol. But yeah i am planning on continuing racing with Corcs, as well as Webe Racing, and Racermec. Most notably im excited for the Racermec course at Powderhorn Ski resort min July, that should prove to be a most awesome weekend, i'll make sure to pack plenty of extra's so i am actually able to race that time lol. Yeah heat shouldn't be an issue in September.... However, this is Colorado... so you never know lol.
Yeah hopefully next year ill race Webe and RMEC they look great. Probably just the Colorado rounds unless I can carpool lol. I'm going to be volunteering at the Grand Junction round in August for RMEC. If nothing else, to just be around racing. Good luck with all of the racing! CORCS has a ton of great people. The guys I race with I met here, great people. Also Dan and Becky are the owners of Big D Motorsports (about 45 minutes from most of the CORCS races). Definitely link up with them. There's always a crowd of Husky's around them so hard to miss lol. They are great people and they help us refuel and stuff like that. They're also open on all week except for Wednesday, so if you happen to need parts again.... Good luck with everything.
Come on down here Sept 7th - 8th for the monte vista round of the WEBE series. Nice shady course through the trees with a couple of river crossings mixed in to cool you off.
I think WEBE is holding a race there in July also. Is it one of the dual sponsored races with both WEBE and RMEC?
Where were you? I figured we might see you there since its closer to you. How did that ride to that you sent me a PM too?
I'm still healing up from a knee surgery, so no racing or riding for me for a little bit still. Unless you count the kids course on a flat grass field riding. haha. The old cow town ride was a lot of fun. I ran the sign up and things in the pits while others rode. Tons of riding around there. The owner let us cut in a brand new 3 mile single track loop as well as have barrel racing in the rodeo arena! Trying to plan some sort of ride there in Sept again.
Yes, you are correct. I was mistaken, its quite difficult to keep all these race series together lol. Yes, im excited for the WEBE event at Powderhorn
