I just got the Dowco Guardian AT (adventure touring) cover and wanted to report in that it covers my '08 perfectly. The AT is the size designation. It's a pricey cover, but my bike lives outdoors and I wanted a heavy duty, well made cover after having cheap $20 covers tear and blow away many times with my last bike. Fits well, will cover the bike nearly to the ground, plenty of room if you had bags or small fairings added to the bike. No problem getting over both mirrors and bark busters etc. Seems like it will have decent heat resistance too, though I've just learned to let the bike cool off after having melted more than one cover to various spots on my old KLR.
Some pics of the Dowco and the Kriega US-10 multi-pack that I also put on The Kriega US-10 is a dry bag, roll top type. It can be used for a few functions, they also make a tank bag harness for it, but it's a bit wide for the TE I think, so I put it on the package rack. It also snaps onto the R25 backpack that I also got, very handy system they have. It is tied to the moto rack via nylon snap buckles on web straps underneath. Just takes a second to pop it off. Here's the bag with the end open, roll type with snap type buckles that hold it shut. I had read somewhere where a guy stated it had to be removed to get into it...no clue what they were talking about. It just rolls open and you have access. It's not the biggest pack in the world, but I'm avoiding getting into the Samsonite bloat I had on my old KLR. This should be more than fine for tool pack/wallet/phone/keys All the crap I don't want poking me in my jacket pockets. The mesh on top is an open mesh pocket you can roll up and stick a shirt in etc.
