should be a tag attached to the upper edge of the case,,
a 77 Husky will have a silver air cleaner cover,,78 Huskys had a flat black cover.
77,s had currnut red springed rear shocks..78 Huskys started to use the remote res, Ohlins.
77 Huskys will have silver rims..78 WR and CR,s had gold rims..unless someone swapped them out.

It's a 78 frame according to this reference - www.vintagehusky.com/id.htm. The engine id is on a small metal plate attached to the engine case just above the countershaft sprocket. It is sometimes missing due to chain damage on the case. The 78 CR 250s had a 2065 engine.

i just looked at a pic of one of my old 78 390 OR,s it did have the dual rate shocks,
black springs, with a yellow or white top spring, hard to tell from my old pic.

    OHC,
Curnutts were the standard shock on the OR's in 78 and 79. I assembled more than 75% of them. If you had some different colors on the springs someone changed them before you bought the bike new. Curnutt had the contract to supply shocks during those years. I worked very closely with the Husky offroad team at that time. Ohlins came a little later.
