Going to pick up a new cr125 today. :) It is one from the campaign price.
But the dealer just told me I will receive a 2014, because there was no 2013 left. :-)
Have only had ktm and honda before, so this will be the first husky.

Anyone with tips, or a to do list with the most needed upgrades?
    Thanx,

Congrats and good luck with your new bike. I'm sure that once you ride this bike you will not be sorry you made the switch. I know I'll never look back on my decision to buy one.

As far as tips on the set up depends on the type of riding you do. Woods /motocross/trails/sand/hills

Congrats man! I hope you like it. I'm kind of wondering the same thing for myself - woods.

I'll be taking my bike out for the first time this weekend

Rad guards. ... and check the linkage/swingarm for lack of grease. Then, grease accordingly. The lower shock bearing is especially bad and needs frequent regreasing. In the case of the 2012, get to it pronto. May be able to save it. Dang things rust out in no time.

I think getting the carb dialled in will be the priority -

Put on a 36mm Lectron for best results. Worth every penny.

FMF pipe should be the first thing on your list.

Does the lectron carb require tuning/adjusting? I've heard people having issues with them and I don't understand why, as from what I gather, it should be basically a "plug and play" carb. Is that incorrect?

To an extent. Like anything, you have to dial it in to your bike, as every bike runs different. Once you get it dialed, forget about it.

You have to tune and dial a regular carb too, so what's the advantage of a lectron?

    Consistency and fuel economy...

The lectron runs way more consistent with elevation changes and temperature changes. I have had mine from 30° to 100° and sea level to 8500 feet without touching it and it ran awesome. My mikuni would have been a blubbering mess.

Last weekends ride we had 3 husky 125's with various setups, mine is a lectron equipped 125, Blakes is a lectron equipped 165, and Brandon's is running a crisp well jetted PWK on his 165. We planned a 65 mile loop and Brandon was out of gas at 52 miles. Blake and I both gave him about a half gallon and we still had plenty to spare at the end of our 65 miles. We all three have the same tank too. Not pushing your bike home at the end of a long ride is priceless...

To not help matters of fuel economy I rode the first 8 miles with my choke on! So you can foul a plug with a lectron, if you are really dumb. Apparently I am, haha.

Ditto to what Jake Said. I put a Lectron on my 165, had to make a couple adjustments to it out of the box, and haven't touched it since. From sea level to 6k feet, 40 degrees F to 80, it hasn't missed a beat. It gave me back the fuel range that the 165 kitt took away as well.

hmmm... if the price is right - it's tempting because I hate jetting. Is the lectron purely mechanical or is it electrical somehow too? Can you explain the initial setup process to get your 'baseline' jetting established with the lectron?

sorry to threadjack - but this is good info for the OP if he's looking for mods

    What % premix is good?
4% is recommended during break in. After minimum 3%.
On ktm I have always used 1:60 or 1:50 with no problem ever. (5 bikes)
Of course using hi-grade oil Castrol tts.
