Looking at the newest online version of Cyclenews and thier enduro 450 test.

They picked the KTM first with the Husaberg and CRF450X a tie for second.

They seemed to like the TXC450 but complained about the seat height, felt big and heavy and wasnt nimble but stable. The biggest complaint was about the vibration which I have read in every test of a Husky 450. They did mention there was an aftermarket counterbalancer that was available that really helps with the vibration. Anyone know of this counterbalancer they are talking about?

Yeah it is called more money paid to the magazine from Husky in order to finish first in these tests....

Oh you meant the counterbalancer to remove the vibration. Sorry no idea. :)

The TE's have a counterbalancer. I took one out once, bike really vibrated!

I dont think anyone makes an aftermarket counterbalancer, but the OEM unit is available from a TE.

If anyone does make one, i will link it to the aftermarket list.

I agree makes you wonder, I dont put to much faith into magazine test but you can see some tendencies in bikes from test to test. Doesnt keep the TE450 from the top of my soon to purchase list.

I will drop CycleNews a line and see if they know of some obscure aftermarket company that makes a counterbalancer. More then likely they are talking about the TE version mentioned by Mike K.

Are you sure the TE has one? I don't the they have had one since 05. SMR has one.

Hammer nailed it. No CB in a long time. You can add an SMR CB if you really wanted to.

I am pretty sure the 09 TE's have a CB, although I haven't been in one to know for certain.

Having never ridden a Husky 4T do they really vibrate that much?

I like the vibes. But I've ridden Buells most my life too.:D

It's just another way of the machine doing its best to communicate to you the rider.

When brand new they about shake themselves apart. After break in the 450 does vibrate but I can't say as it really bothered me with my 2007 TE450. The vibration is much lower frequency than say a two stroke that buzzes as much as vibrates.
