Has anyone had luck logging into the Dakar race thread of adventure rider?

That's the most up to the minute info thread going & I haven't had any luck for a few hours now.

I wonder if it really is a 510, since this years regs at the Dakar require 450cc bikes.

I'm guessing the rear tank is the 10 lt rear Rally Tank from the Husaberg modified to fit the Husky.

That would give him 2.6 gal in the rear and 4.5 in the front, for a total of 7.1 gal.

    7.1 gal x 30 MPG = 213 mile range
    7.1 gal x 35 MPG = 248.5 mile range

Seems a bit low on total range unless they reduced the minimum fuel reange requierment at this years Dakar. If I remember correctly it is usually around 250 miles +20% --> Thats about 300 miles.

This year it's only mandatory for the pro's to run 450 or less. Amateurs can still larger displacement bikes

Not that I want you to spend your time over there instead of here, but do you have a link? They have many threads...

erm, uh, by all means feel free to spend your time however you see fit. There is no way to compete with the level of information on advrider, and frankly I would not want to try too. In fact I finally made a couple of posts recently over there after being a member for a couple of years. :)

In any event, the link works for me at this time.

I can say that if you are having trouble connecting to sites in general (not just a single thread), especially if you are in eastern Canada, you may be having routing problems - strange things have been happening from eastern Canada & UK/EU to servers located in Texas and the west coast of the USA. It has been happening for months. I've no idea where advrider is hosted though...

It's back up now, I guess everyone had trouble.
Probably because of the Dakar thread.
Last few years running it's been the best place to keep informed on the rally.

Sorry if my last post sounded wrong, I just go a little nutz during the rally :busted:

The Dakar home page isn't offering any tracking yet, hope they fix it soon. I won't be getting much sleep until the rally's over.

    Cool, thanks Mike
    DVR is set
I thought this year we’ll see more then one Husky in the lineup...and less Jincheng’s :excuseme:

Hey what’s the deal with the Bimota “b” symbol on the bikes ?
Can it be that they’re sponsoring on the Dakar ? It’ll be like Hardly Dreaditson sponsoring a trials event
