Sounds like fun. The number of times I'd fall over, a lighter bike may enable me to get more than 160 kms (100 miles) befor I'd pull out...
Love it good on em. Was jus thinkin today wonder if any 2ts entered let alone a 125. At least with Dakar you can swap whole motors if required every day or 2. No reason a 125 couldn't finish. Probably need a light rider n keep the weight of gear down as much as possible but fueled/jetted right why not?! I reckon my 165 would do it! Mighten be too quick in the sand dunes though!
During the intro of the last day's coverage on TV there was a 2 or 3 second clip of entry 111 with the rider standing off to the left side of the bike clutching. pushing and screaming the beejesus out of that little 125 trying to get up a soft hill. Obviously he made it because he was one of the 83 motorcycle finishers.
Meo did the final sections with a broken left scafoid and a dislocated carpus in the right. I did my left scafoid into 3 pieces and rode a couple of miles...but the crackling, grinding and pain made me fully understand that something was seriously broken........he rode many miles with the same injury....nuts. He will have surgery on both hands. Very cool for the TE125 Frenchman!! a finish is great for a "privateer effort"
