anyone else go? I did see drew smith and kyle rehatchuk there, rained all saturday night and I knew racing sunday was going to be very technical, started on row 21 which was a pretty good row for the conditions, they had 93 miles for us and I fought hard for every mile,it was my first race on my new 2010 husqvarna TE250 that i am riding out of wagner motorsports in worcester ma. The trails were almost all greasy mud and clay, something i really never ride! you guys are very talented if you haul in those conditions, like riding on ice! the sections were pretty rideable and my TE powered up everything! they really hit the nail on this model, there were two strokes overheating in some of the tight sections,my fan never even came on!! got hung up for a few minutes digging my bike out of the fragmities, but once going again I held up fine and ran down the "sluice"(they had a bypass for guys who wanted to ride around it) all in all I had an ok day for being out of my comfort zone and finished 10th AA,I cant wait for our season to start around here, two weeks till our first event of the spring, heres a few photos from the event
Very good, CONGRATS! I worked a checkpoint at a Hair Scramble race at Action Town in VA this past Sunday. Same thing rain all night Saturday slick mud Sunday. I did see where a Husky won in the 40+ class. There were only two Huskys racing out of about 300 bikes. Keep on racing and one day we will have more. BTW you guys that race in the mud with trees all around are crazy!
also very pleased to make 35 miles on the stock tank without running out, with all the wheel spin,im sure it will go further in dry conditons, maybe 40 miles?
A couple of my buddies went down with their new '10 WR300's. Dave somehow broke a bead on a rear tire and spit out his tireballs. Phil ran out of gas in 28 miles with the stock tank. He somehow missed their pit guy just before that. They both ordered IMS tanks.
I was at the delaware yesterday with the 310. I was on row 6 so I had a slight advantage. Got 1st in B4 heavy.
norm while its not funny,I did see a few tire balls out there,my buddy mark said i was crazy and seeing things, they must have been ahead of me,race reminded me of newark last year
Good stuff, fun read. Thanks. We have those conditions here a lot also. This year has been real mild though. BTW my 2010 TXC250 never overheats ether. Fan will come on if you let it idle forever. I thought it was broke at first.
I ran DE with the CR 125 in B 200. Took sixth with the low, low score of 184 Yeah, it was definitely a tough one. Got stuck on a couple of hills, but got up with the help of fellow riders and course workers.
It was A great enduro carded a 57 and got beat by 1 point in the 50+ A class, I'm a member of Ridge Riders MC and had the great pleasure of being on the winning club team. The Delaware state enduro never disapoints!
Darn Drew,.... 1 pt......thank goodness scores have no correlation to age otherwise I would be in the Guiness book of records for oldest man in the world...EVER!
Drew Great Run down there. You came up and passed me in the hilly section. I was in survival mode looking for the end. Thanks for doing my suspension over the winter. I was flying down the road after the sluice and a blue pipe poped out of know where. I thought it was over but it sucked it up. Thanks Jeff Marcucci
That blue pipe scared the bejeebers out of me! This was shortly after the sluice, so I was all jazzed up after making it through. The trail opened up to fast two-track, so I was humming along well in 4th or 5th, when I crested a minor rise and saw, maybe 50 feet ahead, a 15" diameter pipe running directly across the trail. I slid both wheels in the greasy muck and managed to scrub enough speed to hit it without wiping out. A couple of warning X signs at the rise would have been welcome.
I am in the section where the sluice is,but on Sunday I was out in the bypass section.I don't think we had 35 bikes that did not ride the sluice.Saturday the trails were awesome, just run in and tacking up by afternoon.I didn't have a bike to run the section on Sunday but the guys in the section said by the end of the race the grass track and section were a blast to ride.Glad you got a chance to ride some of our trail,we threw out a lot of things on Saturday evening knowing the rain would saturate the low areas.
