    I have used laundry detergent, dish soap, bleach mix and still cant get smell out after a race. Prior to race smells decent but after smells rotting. I usually wash inside with hose and fan dry for 24 hrs. To no avail. Any help??

    SmartWool socks.... Since I started wearing them, my boots don't stink!
    Is this just an Austrian Husky 2T problem though?:busted:

    I really hate to admit this but Norwex makes an odor eliminator that works really well. Awesome in the truck too

    I had a set of Alpinestars one time, that smelled almost like cat pee after they got thoroughly submersed in a really nasty mud bog. I finally soaked them overnight in a bucket of bleach water, rinsed them and soaked them again overnight in a bucket of water mixed with baking soda. That seemed to work for that pretty well.

    Use a boot drier after you ride and put Vicks vapor rub on your feet before you put your socks on.

    Just read and interesting tip in and outdoor magazine.
    Said to use a 50lb bag of seed corn and totally immerse boots in it (filling up the boot as well) for 24 hours.
    No idea if it works or not but sounds east enough to try out assuming you can find corn.

    I've given up on this matter haha they are always going to smell slightly off. Mine don't smell horrid but they are a little smelly. I put a little foot powder in here and there and wash occasionally. I can't smell them when they are on my foot pegs where they belong so to hell with it

    Charlotte = suburbanites galore!

    I am one of the few here actually from Charlotte, I would guess that 2/3 of the populace are relocated Northerners (Ohio, Michigan, etc).

    Seed corn has a fungicide coating to prevent germination/seed related fungal diseases. It has a very dry moisture content and will also absorb all the moisture. I couldn't tell you if you are going to get a benefit from the anti-fungal activity as I have no idea if the fungal types are similar enough to have cross efficacy. Will probably have no anti-bacterial function other than the dryness. When it comes to fungal diseases the golf course guys are probably as knowledgeable as anyone. Fact: there is far more we don't know than what we do know about this very important organism class both beneficial and antagonistic.

    I second the boot drier. Once you own one, boots and shoes will never be the same. One of the greatest inventions ever. Mines pushing 10 years old and still working strong. Get some charcoal insoles too.

    Alpinstar Tech 3's stink- really. The Pete Boot Drying and lots of Gold Bond foot powder help, but I needed an excuse to get some good Italian made Garne boots. Wish I'd got them to begin with- my past experience with Hi-Point Alpinstars made me bias to the brand. Unbeknownst to me, the Tech 3's are actually made in China: not nearly as good a boot as the Italian made Garne. Even the lower end G-React that I have are great compared to the Alpinstars.
