Diagnostic Connector And Odb2 Reader?

    Husqvarna Motorcycle:
    2013 TXC 310
    New to me 2013 TXC 310 seems to be running fine but red dash light comes on intermittently. I tried searching and read a lot of the iBeat stuff on here but could not find my answer. I just want to connect to an ODB2 reader to see what the error codes are. Have found connector cables for KTM, Yamaha etc. online. Can this still only be done with the $1K HST or by a dealer?
