Hi all, I am purchasing a 2012 TC 449 next week. In advance of that, are there any suggestions of commonly used diagnostic software with service functions e.g TPS offset Second to that, what hardware/interface is required to connect to the PCM? Also, does anyone know if this model is fitted with a lambda sensor? I'm guessing not - and in that case is there a blanked lambda sensor boss in the pipe (I will fit my external wide-band). Just planning a shopping list! Thanks in advance
To add, and probably most importantly, I'd like to monitor and ideally log all PCM constants/inputs aswell. Do Husqvarna have their own such software?
TC 449 is Keihin and software is dealer only. HST. You can buy or make a test plug set to test/reset TPS volts. Most tuners on here use JD or PCV to fool the standard mapping. PCV software shows data on screen.
There's this: http://www.hexcode.co.za/products/gs-911/kmsk which lists the BMW G450X as compatible, so it might work with the 449 as well.
Someone asked this question a while ago. From what I remember about the thread at the time, it wasn't usable for the TE/TC 449/511 bikes. Might still be worth asking them direct though, it would be great to have ECU access at home for these bikes. My dealer is 25-30 mins from my place & looks at me like I have AIDS when I front up with my Italian bike. He only wants to play with the new KTM/Husky clones!!
Hi Guys, My assumption of Mikuni was, as has been pointed out, incorrect. I have now collected the bike and can confirm as above it uses Keihin FIE. Studying the workshop documentation, the diagnostics plug links to the K-Line - so data monitoring shouldnt be too problematic - will carrying on researching. As for reading calibration from the PCM - does anyone know what MCU is used? Im trying to locate a scrap unit currently to teardown - but if anyone has some info in the meantime, that would be good Cheers,
Mate, if you sort it out we will all be very greatful. To be able to tune the original unit would be awesome. It does use K-line, beyond that I'm no help. As mentioned above, most people on here use a piggyback. Crude by tuning standards, but effective by all accounts. The basic ECU is the same as all the other keihin powered bikes & most off-road manufactures who use this ECU are tunable by the end user in some way. (Hand tool, resistor plugs, laptop software etc) You would need to get around the BMW 'handshake' for the software, what that involves, I am not sure as I don't have the smarts. I know that it can be done, but not by me. Watching with interest.
I wired an ELM327 OBDII reader to the diagnostics port trying to read data off the K-Line. I couldn't get anything. I hope you can figure it out. Here's the thread: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/449-511-communication-with-ecu.39593/#post-383241
As far as I'm aware it was the hardparts for racing that included the Kehin ecu & 12 point injector on them. Not 100% on that....
