Guys, I just changed the oil in my Terra, spent the day in my "Old Guys Garage"....I looked at the equivilent 10w50 at a local bike shop...it was $12 US for a qt. I went to a local auto parts store you know those three guys....castrol syntec 5w50 was $8.00 US so in keeping with my new toys requiremets as closely as I could.....ahem I got the 5w50....my manual fob thing was buggered up so I found an oil change thread on here and used the info therein....found my new bike was low on oil as well as coolant....so much for a big time dealerships cred to me..... At any rate the plug had loads of gunk caught up on ther magnet probe and my drain pan stays in a clean place so when I drained the waste oil into the bottles I looked in the dregs....lots of shiney bits and what reminded me of waste material you'd find in a threaded boss inside of some thing mechanical........It was different finding the bung I had to remove to drain the oil tank....it was so tight I removed it after the oil drained....next is to check the air filter....chain maintainence was pulled as it was getting funky.... I'll admit I am new to dual sport bikes not motorcycles as a whole ,I've been riding since I was young and doing most of my own maintainance along the way on all of my motorcycles....I enjoy the time with my motorcycles....its good to know one can do these things and it be right....at least I wouldn't let one leave my shop to start its life low on oil and coolant..... If I may ask of any readers who own Terras did everyone get a tool kit with their bike from new? I didn't and my sales guy doesn't know how to respond to me... Rod
I peeled your post off from the other thread. While you did state you were using Castrol 5w50, your question seems to be about the tool kit. No I did not get a tool kit with my bike.
No tool kit on my Terra. I've asked for one several times thru my dealer but no luck so far. I'm pretty sure that the factory knows that kits were not shipped with the early bikes, so they must not want to deal with it now. All I really want from it is the tall plug socket and the shock adjust spanner.
I got one with my bike but "tool kit" is a bit of an exaggeration. It is a couple of tools. Enough to adjust the suspension or change the plugs but not sufficient to adjust the chain. *boggle*
One email to my dealer (Eurosport Asheville NC) ...asking kindly about lack of a tool kit...two days later they emailed saying it was in...great service. Some say maybe it shoulda been there to start with...I kinda like that sort of attitude..highly recommend them! It's not much...but the spark plug socket is long and skinny..I gotta bunch of SP sockets...but none like it! Worth having IMHO.
Just got a phone call out of the blue today from Donnells, said the new bikes had come with a tool kit so he'd ordered me one and it had come in. Good dealer, I am glad they picked up the Husky line.
Heck ya, another KC guy. Donnell's is pretty awesome, they've got me converted from the orange. Mine did not come with a kit, so I guess I'll need to check with them next time I'm there.
Got mine at Donnell's a couple weeks ago and my Terra came with a toolkit. Agree, Donnell's is a great dealership.
Well I just email the USA head office to see if they are going to provide them. So now it's wait and see.
First try with my dealer, they presented me with a document stating toolkits are not included nor are they supposed to be included. I called USA head office and the receptionist told me Husqvarna was aware some bikes were missing their toolkits. That the toolkits are available as a warranty item and the dealers just need to file a claim. So call my dealer back and they assure me they will look into it again and figure out how to file a warranty claim. Not reassuring if I ever have a real warranty issue.
Emailed my dealer today and was told that tool kits were on the way.....SOooo maybe we do get one....looking forward to the plug and shock spanner tools.
Got one with my Beta 350 RS. Spark plug wrench t-handle 6/8mm hex Axle wrench and spoke wrench wire pliars 5mm hex with ball end two way phillips and slotted screw driver t-45 10mm socket open end 10/13 wrench 4mm hex
He was rather asking about that thing to right of the USB-stick... I wonder what it is too as didnt got that (and I got whole tool set).
