I have a 2009 TE 250. The dealer took off the air and exhaust baffles and removed the throttle stop. It ran too lean so I took off the O2 sensor. This really woke it up. I checked the spark plug and it's now running rich. I have 7 or 8 hours on it and not sure if it still needs to be broke in before the plug will clean up. I've been looking at the ibeat and Power Commander but know little about remapping. I need something that's plug and play. Sorry but I need someone to tell me exactly what to do to tune my bike. I can't find anyone that has mapping programs ready to go for the 2009 TE. The auto mapping comes with, but is it any good? Any direction will be appreciated. 1973 Husky wr 250 1974 Husky cr 250 1973 Husky wr 250 Many road bikes 2009 Husky TE 250 Thanks, Russ
These are just my opinions- so take them with a grain of salt. iBeat= Diagnostic tool only, seems semi-worthless for tuning with its 3, yes, 3 CO % adjustment points. I have no idea what kind of "global" CO adjustment this makes, I'm in the process of figuring that out on my TXC250 on my dyno. Suffice to say that any real tuning tool has more load sites and parameters than 3. PowerCommander with AutoTune= A real tuning tool for sure, actually lets you adjust MANY parameters, AT self tunes to a target A/F ratio (excellent). If you intend to avoid the dealer and make your bike run correctly its my opinion you need them both as all functions cannot be had in one box.
Ibeat V2 has not been worthless in my application (09 TE510). Here is a post by a user going through his experience with IbeatV2 and his new TXC250 – might be worth a read. http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6551 Post 83 of this thread (by Coffee) gives a good explanation of how 3 points of calibration changes the entire fuel curve. If the numbers are confusing, skip to his summary sentences. http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4147&page=5 MAT
