I just installed (2 week's ago ) an Electronic Jet Kit. $280 AUS , 15 minutes to install , No more stalling. Green fuel (idle) adjusted to 6.5. Yellow fuel left at 4 (mid throttle). Red fuel left on 4 (WOT). 4 was the standard setting on my EJK. I've since ridden expressway to slow shitty single track with logs and mud holes with no problems.
Like the JD are you sure it does not have 7 adjustments? I think you have idle, AC pump, and something else no?
Hi Motosportz. Yes there are more modes but I am no technician, so I just adjusted the green idle fuel as per direction from the mechanic and all seems fine.
Yep, pretty much like the JD. These boxes are made by one company and programmed by the sellers. Work well for there intended purpose.
I emailed them a few weeks ago and they said they didn't have anything for the TR650. I found that part number is for a 01-04 BMW F650. How did you arrive at the particular part number?
The guy I spoke to use to work for a BMW dealership before working with Huskys. He has used a few of the EJK on some Husky race bikes. After making several phone calls to his contacts he assured me that this one would do the job. I went home and installed the unit. I then rang him at the shop and he told me to set the "Green fuel" at 6.5, and to leave the other settings as they are. I questioned whether 6.5 was too high. He said that they run other Huskys at 4 to 4.5 but because the TR650 runs so lean that 6.5 was the go. Since the install the bike has run faultlessly in all types of situations and I don't even think about stalling. At $280 and minimum fuss I am very happy with the out come. It a lot cheaper than a PCV and no need for an auto tuner. Cheers Biff
I have read a lot of people like the JD tuner for the 449/511. These tuners are all made by Dobeck Performance as private label items. This is a great find. Thank you Biff.
I have had mine unplugged and it did not throw a code on the dash. I'll let her run awhile and see if it throws a code. I know the other huskies do not throw a code.
Done this, no engine light. You will get a fault when on the MOSS Tool, but its no big deal. In theory it should default rich without O2, I ran mine like this and it still tried to stall = no gain over OEM......I believe we have an ECU issue. O2 is there to save the trees (keep emissions low) by leaning mixture when it runs beyond the parameters and this is why the Eruption is not working...as they work against each other. Some people run "emulators" to keep ECU happy, I was hoping for some gain when I unplugged the O2, in which case an emulator may work, this may still be the case but the correct resistance value will need to be calculated...more time and fiddling required.
Hi wferrari. I have run it at 6 on green fuel around the streets for a few days and it ran fine, but I put it back to 6.5 as I just felt more comfortable after my weekend riding fire trails and some shitty single track with zero stalling and no problems what so ever. Just so you know I haven't unplugged the o2 sensor my bike is de restricted and standard.
I wonder if this will cause the ECU to "autotune" itself by going even leaner, to compensate with the increased fuel injection of the EJK.
Wondering why you left the O2 sensor connected when from what I can tell from the instructions it should be disconnected. Wouldn't that open up the possibility of it being adjusted out?
The JD has you disconnect the o2 sensor also. Guys with the 4 stroke dirt bikes really like them. This is built by the same company and they recommend disconnecting the o2.
