For bike hackers like me. They have been my fave for a while, just realized all the rock banging during Saturdays race I actually bent the crap out of my left brace/guard dang it..I noticed the louver was all strange looking..rad got tweaked big time as well. going on a 2 day mex ride so that way it will stay for now. Will do a disassemble and work on it next week. guard for sure saved the rad, that frame is heavy gauge alloy and its all twisted up. no leakage and have zipty xf2 low/no pressure coolant installed so no worry.

Nice. I'm doing the 7602 version since last spring. When I tore down this winter I only had some minor tweakage. Them goofy tabs for the rad shrouds sticking out like to bend pretty easy. Easy to bend back I recon.

I got a set of those EE guards on one of my bikes and they look really cool & top notch all around ... After the radiator damage I did on my first few water-cooled bike rides, I just can't ride without them (guards) ...

I've got them on my '12 300 and just realized they're in contact with the top of the pipe in 1 spot. I've got a Gnarly to install, so will check that fit closely.
They're def stout and well made, the little hex screws should be SS or maybe Al, mine are rusty.

We've been working on some sort of protection piece for that little tab. Just haven't found a solution that I'm completely happy with yet.

If you're talking about the braces on your 2010 TC 250 those are our 7602 braces.

Yes that's the area I'm referring to. I sat and thought for a while trying to solve the problem but imo the force that causes the tabs to bend is transferred from the outside of the radiator shroud when the bike is dropped or contacted there. The bullet proof design does nothing to solve this either. Again, my opinion. The only thing that would fix this is a bracket that would need to tie to the hole in the shroud directly and span vertically to the braces to distribute the impact force equally. Doing so may end up causing more damage than simply bending the tabs back though. That's my fear.

Exactly. Every time I think I have a solution, that solution causes another problem somewhere.

After bending the radiator, braces and guards on my YZ125 I bought the chinese radiators which are much heavier built and now I only use the cheap supports. I figure it's less to buy after a crash that bends everything anyway. Similar to this I've taken the pipe guards off everything I own as well, the carbon guards are more expensive than a pipe so I just bought an extra pipe.

I think along the same lines except for the part where I may be 20 miles back in the woods and trash a rad or pipe. The guards are not-cheap insurance so that I can hopefully make it home after a crash.
