• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The fam and I left yesterday at 7am to begin our journey. It was a 3.5 hour drive, and we got the the arena in plenty of time to watch a bunch of practicing, qualifying, and walk the pits. I absolutely love the pits at these events. They are small, and everyone is out and about. No lines to talk to riders, There are pro's pitted next to the locals, and it's just a great environment all-around.

Here are a few pics for you guys that couldn't make it.

Husky was there in full effect. Right when you walk in the main entrance, these were there to greet you. No other brand had these layed out. Did Tasky's have something to do with this?

We snuck out on the rider's track walk. Here are my two favorite boys at the starting gate.

Here is Taddy. He looks more stable riding than walking!

Cory is a really nice guy. He is fun to talk to. My oldest and I chatted it up with him 4 months ago at the Funky Chicken while he was wrenching on his bike. We walked up to him at the pits here, and same thing, happy to talk, and always has a good attitude. I'm a big fan of this guy! Didn't get the best start in the main, but overall he looked smooth.

Great stuff!!! Love the pics. It looked cold in Everett.....then again, it's always cold in Everett.

It was cold! I mean, it's pretty cold in Portland right now, but when we stepped out of the car in Everett, I thought DAMN**************************************** IT'S CHILLY!!!

It may have been cold, but the racing was HOT. Best race of the night Vet+35. The three guys on the "box" were the surprise of the night. All three riders were in a dream world and were afraid to wake up. I love announcing this type of event, the fan's, rider's, sponsor's and teams are so much fun to work with. Idaho was one bad boy track and gave all of the riders a hard time. Can't wait for the last round in Vegas, since there are 2 main events and championships to be won. November 16 all Non-Seated riders will ride and the Saturday program, November 17, starts at 2:00 pm with practice and hot laps. Doors open at 6:00 pm, so let fun rage in Las Vegas. It will be a sell-out for sure. The pits are open and all (DAY) racing/practice is free to the public. Tickets are only needed for the Night Show.

Dbaz, are you the announcer? If so, nice job! I saw you making rounds during practice around the track, while announcing.. I always just figured the announcer sat at a table, or in a booth above or something. It's so loud during the event, it's hard to hear you, except when the trails bike are out on the track! Then we could hear every word!

Speaking of that, I need me a trails for my backyard...
