Engine guard

    Hi Guys

    Just to show my engine guard I made today .. took almost the whole day to cut weld and fit it ..

    It looks good, but I wild have come up a bit more on the side to protect the oil sump and filter area.

    Yep .. and its giving me something to practice my Aluminium welding
    Im thinking to build rear rack from Aluminium as well what do you think ? or to do it from stainless steel ...

    i think aluminum would make a nice rack, what welder are you using?

    I have the UNIMIG AC/DC 200 , thinking to do the racks from aluminium to keep the weight down and its still strong but maybe I'm wrong

    Good job, think about some holes to help water and mud escape and as importantly to fascilitate engine noise bounce back.

    Thanks ghte! I notice the moment I fired her up about the noise difference , Im gonna make some holes in the future..

    Looks great!! I've been thinking about this but would have to buy the welder so I can't justify it.

    Stuff some free-flowing foam in there (like anti-slosh fuel tank foam) between the plate (which looks very good) and the engine, it will let water run through but won't let trash and crap build up as badly, and will help mute the noise. You might consider building a bolt-on "wing" for the right side to help protect the oil pump and oil filter cap.
