Husky racing uses Belray while KTM says to use Motul. Same engine. Which do you think is better to use?

Been using light gear oil by these brands for years ; RockOil, Silkolene, Motul, Putoline without any probs. basically whatever's been available and convenien.
A lot of buddies use ATF (automatic transmission fluid)in their 2t gearboxes with no probs although I've never used it myself.

M1 0W40 or Rotella 5W40 in the gear box (M1 is a little easier on the clutch cold). We use Maxima 927 or Torco GP-7/T-2R. I prefer the 927 which gives greatest engine life, especially when really abusing it.

Ok Im dipping my foot..... for 40:1 TE300 premix- Ive got a @60/40 blend of Maxima Super M, Motul 800 with a dash of 927 for its aromatic effects on the competition--among friends......trying to use up my shelved stuff. want to continue to throw in a alittle 927 if for nothing else that bean oil vintage smell!!

I love oil threads... not being a smart ass either. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who likes to play around with pre-mix concoctions. Mine is Bel Ray H1R/927. The aroma of the good ol' days.

Either Motul (800) or Belray (H1R) are great premix oils. Use whatever suits you better (price etc..)

Regarding mixing, I would be careful specially mixing castor based oils with synthetics or mineral oils as some adverse reactions are possible AFIK.
Mixing different kind of synthetics is more doable I think. When I change from synth to castor I flush the entire tank and carb to avoid any kind of reaction.

Solid point and I have thought about that but the amount of Castor I use isn't much, maybe 1/2 oz or so and it's more to add that smell than anything else (which is silly). I do like the Bel Ray oil and the 927 by themselves although
the 927 can be a little too much smell wise at 40:1. I've got a full bottle of Super M which I haven't tried yet. Oil threads rule !

We were Silkolene in the bottom end and 4 strokes, until they pulled sponsorships in the US. Now looking at Belray for '15.
Golden Spectro for premix since 1983.

Do you mean Mobil delvac 15-40 oil? The million mile oil for truckers and equipment? I use it in my tractors(farm equipment) too.
