Would any one out there have a educated guess on how close the engine from an 09 150 would come to fitting in an 08 TCX 250 frame? Or any 2T engine fittin in an 08 TXC frame ... I'm rolling the hrs on my bike and would like to give it some relief without purchasing an entire bike ...

I would be concerned about thefront frame downtube and whether there is room for the exhaust to exit. That would be a difficult thing to remedy if there were significant interference there. Otherwise, you're probably looking at making sure the sprockets align and redoing the motor mounts. And also carb-to-airbox issues. I imagine the position of the 150's carb is significantly different from the 4-stroke's. A 150's air boot might bolt up to the TXC's air box, however. And pipe routing. It's certainly do-able, but it might be more difficult than you anticipate if you can't fit the exaust out the front of the frame. Really, that's the key.

Yep..that exhaust would most likely be the biggest issue... Probably more trouble than it is worth ... I'll probably end up with a japan bike as my second :( ... It would be really cool to have a Husky 2t here to go along with my 4t ...

What kind of bike do you think that you will buy? I've been looking at early 2K YZ250's and they go pretty cheap where I live. They are fun bikes!

Not sure but will need to be street legal .... Over here, that is not too big a hurdle to step over ... Don't see a lot of 250 here but some guy I met just today said he has a mid 90s 250 YZ ... I should see it next week 4 sure ...
