Does anyone know if the exhaust ports and mounting points are the same diameter through the life of the 360.

The reason I am asking is I want to retro fit a 2000 model FMF expansion chamber to my 92 model.

    Will I have any dramas?

The Motors are the same as far as I can tell from part numbers, they have changed frames several times so the mounts and pipe curves may be different. This really interests me as I am about to start hunting for another pipe myself. If you go through with it let me know good or bad. I have a 93 WXC360

    No probs.
I will order one this week so in a couple of weeks I will start the thread.
I can see that the 2000 model has different anchor points but as long as it seals at the head and doesnt leak then the rest should be easy with a few mods here and there.

I will also get an FMF shorty muffler too and Retro Fit that.

There are still FMF Gnarly pipes made for 92 and 93 why not go with that, did you look at the FMF website ?

    Yeah I did.

They only list 2000 - 2001 and 2002 which is why I was going to try the retro fit.

The 92 360 used a different system for the exhaust. The 1993-2002 are the same. I would caution you on the 1992 you may be wasting good money. The cylinder/exhaust is very different on the 92.

    Thanks for the info mate.

    Can you elaborate a bit?

You say that they are different but any idea what is the difference?

Is the exhaust port size different?

Is the way it secures to the head different?

    Is the shape different?

    Are the mounting points different?

If my bike is an 11/92 build then is it a 93 or a 92?

How would I distinguish between the two models?

The cylinders have different part numbers between 92-93 but it looks like the real difference is the 92 has a male adapter on the cylinder with a matching pipe (shorter at the head) and the 93 does not the pipe goes straight into the head. Does your bike have this adapter? Could be that the adaptor method was changed to save weight, better design ? I think if you look up just 360 instead of wr360 on the fmf website you'll see the 92-98 model pipe

    # 1 is a 1992, # 2 is a 1993. The pipe for a 92 goes over the outside of the mount or as you call them the missing pieces, the 93 pipe slides into the cylinder like most bikes.
