• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Congratulations to Husqvarna F.A.R. rider Andrew Delong for his Loretta Lynn's GNCC win yesterday!

AWESOME.

Good job by Andrew and FAR. Too bad he missed a few rounds early in the season due to injury.... he may have won the XC2 Championship!

I think if he had not missed the first two rounds he would have won the championship. I thought Baylor had it under control, but it was actually J. Thomas that won it helped by the fact he made all the rounds.

Kinda saying the same thing but Stu raced half the season with a broken wrist. Not only did he miss a round but he finished the season with a broken wrist. He had surgery today. Dirtbikers are one tough group. Doesn't matter what color you race, if you're a racer you are tough.

I'm still blown away by Paul Whibley getting 12 out of 12 holeshots. That's absurd.

Wasn't it 13 outta 13

Last weekend the GNCC circus headed for its last race in 2012 to Loretta Lynns in Hurricane Mills, TN. In the XC 2 Pro Lites class Husqvarna rider Andrew DeLong still had a small chance to win the title. After the start the young American was in 3rd place in the first lap. In lap two he worked his way up into first and stayed there until the end scoring his 5th victory of the season. In the end Andrew finished more than 1'30 minute ahead of the second Jason Thomas.

Sadly the victory was not enough to catch his competitors in the championship Andrew finishes 3rd in the only 11 points behind the winner Jason Thomas. But the F.A.R. team is happy with this result because Andrew missed the first two races of the season due to an injury and scored 10 podiums including 5 victories in the eleven races he participated, on his TXC310R.

Andrew DeLong: “I wanted to finish out the year in a winning note! I think I did that!”

We actually drove the 2000+kms to go and race the final event of the GNCC season. Once I was done with the morning class race, we took some pics of the PM races. Here are 2 of DeLong during the race.
