FE/FC FE350 Clutch slipping despite New fitted Clutch

Hi Guys,
just had the Clutch slipping on the 350 ,,so i installed a new one and the thing still slips.
Lever goes all the way back and gives enough freeplay.
What else could it be??? Does the bike have another slipclutch like the 449 models have ?

You'll probably need to supply a little more info on your saga ... Like what parts did you change out and what did the parts look like that you did remove? The 'what motor oil are you using' question will need to be answered also ...Maybe this is known issue but clutches are so solid nowadays, it might be specific to you...

Slipclutch as in torque limiter? That part was a true bwm item for as far as the eye can see from my limited knowledge.

Change the clutch spring as I think yours is a belvedere spring washer.
They have stronger ones and better quality.

You mean a Belleville Spring Washer. Here's a KTM one pictured.

This is a Belvedere in the spring after I washed her. Its also a stronger one than stock and better quality


I'd check the oil also and make sure the oil has no friction modifiers also 9880sts.

Monsoons just hit us here. Loving it. I'm taking a heat break right now and going back out in a few more hours to ride the likely evening rain. 82% humidity here in the AZ desert means 40+ percent chance for more rain this afternoon. I'll be riding the new FE 501 tomorrow too.

Sorry Helmut, I had forgot to mention the Belleville spring I pictured was the Slaven's racing heavy duty one. I was just having some fun.

Like LOM above says, its 280 psi, tension.

As a sidenote, how's that wet AZ sand hookup with that 501?

I heard of a few bikes here that had a warranty done on the clutch for similar reasons. One was a 501 the other one was a 350 I believe.
I'll try to find out more this week, will post when have more info.

The AZ sand and the last few days of rain have made for some fantastic riding. Every large deep deceiving puddle in the large dirt roads from the BP trucks 2 tracks have a few jackrabbits or cottontail rabbits coming out of everywhere in the late afternoon and evenings. They are out standing there getting a drink. You can usually drive around them ( the large puddles ) but its fun Chasing them down (the rabbits) and then splashing them, its a riot.

We really needed the rain here. No dust whatsoever. Its great.

The Sedona 887 and the Tubliss system so far is great. I make sure to check the bladder pressure before I go out to ride, to top it off to make sure its just over 100 to 110 lbs, but I am running only about 7lbs in the rear tire and went back to 14lbs on the large circumference 216AA front which is fantastic as well. This thing now hooks up so good by just stamping your ass on the seat its amazing.

I don't know why anyone would buy a set of AT 81s they were terrible here and are considered to be a highly rated tire? I put 13 hours on them and tossed them in the trucks garbage pile to go to the dumps.

With this tire combination it seems I can just ride with my feet up 97% of the time, pick up the next gear and let the bike do what its going to do. Just back it into the turns and steer with the rear tire and throttle with your feet up. Its not sketchy at all anymore.

I didn't get back home tonight from riding right to my house until about 8:30 PM. The first thing I did when I got here is lower the headlight as it was way too high to see clearly in the dark so I set the adjustment to the back wall of my garage from about 5 ft out the door. Lowered it way down and checked the highbeam. It should be good now to ride at night.

Helped my buddy earlier this morning, mount up 2 new tires on my new tire mounting stand and we are going out tomorrow again. I like having 3 days off. He was running a set of Trials M43 Pirellis front and rear on his WR450 and the front end would wash out on him all over the place in the dry silt. He can't wait to ride some new knobbies.

Is it slipping a lot?

My fe501s' clutch slips too on the street. It seems to slip as the rpms get higher....trying to wheelie from a roll is hard....almost undoable.
