After taking a hard fall in a rock garden, I was wondering how my bike came out without a scratch. It wasn't until I washed it today that I found out why. The rear sprocket took the entire hit. It's bent and the chain snaps (loudly) as I rotate the wheel.

It's a renthal aluminum. I've got a trip to Nevada starting on Thursday night. No time to find a replacement 52 on line and have it shipped.

Can I bend it back? Or should I put the stock 51 back on?

If it was me I'd put on the 51 and go ride.

We might be able to overnight one to you, have tons of sprockets in stock. Eventually, I would get a DirtTricks Ironman sprocket. It can take hits like that and will not break.

Can you bend it back? Not sure but if it was mine, I'd try unless it is impossible to get straight again ... But also purchase a new one. Myself, I don't buy the ALUM ones any more due the steel or hybrid ones lasting so much longer ... I tried a 51T once instead of a 50T ... I could not tell the difference when riding really...

I slow down in the gnarlier rock places here that can damage the bike... same as the deeper water stuff ... I just avoid these places and try to eliminate self-inflected wounds as much as possible. Not enough time left to be sitting when I should be riding ...

Ray, I can't help myself. The 511 is so much fun with the pcv, I just can't stay off the throttle. I can see now that I need to send it to ZTR to get the suspension revalved. I put new springs in, but the front wheel keeps squirting out from under me.

This is so frustrating. I have a so-called Husky dealer and a KTM/Husky dealer within 15 minutes drive. No one in town has these in stock.

Just run the oem one. Not worth getting hurt or stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Pull it off, place it on some hardwood & carefully tap the bent area straight with a plastic hammer (or regular hammer & block of wood).
Inspect for any signs of cracking, refit it & order the new one.
Personally, I'd ride on it if it meant not missing a ride.

I would replace the sprocket AND CHAIN if it was run at anytime at all like that.

I have some nice pictures of a friend in your situation that tried the save a few pennies route.

Lets say broken chain, lots of missing skin allover his body and a few broken ribs.

Drivetrain, brakes, and tires. Do not f%# around.

What are the specs on our chains? 520 something or other? Who makes a decent/affordable chain?

Any of the big name brands, RK, EK or DID are what I use. Clip type link with sillicone over it, or rivet by using a c clamp and ball bearing.

Up to you. I am super super super particular about drivetrain and brakes. Never had an issue but it could easily be a problem.

I just know way too many guys that run worn out sloppy loose chains or bald tires or ebay brake pads. I cant do it :\
