FMF Slip on 2013 TXC310

I needed a a muffler, mine is bent. I picked up a 4.1 for a tc not a txc. The mid pipe is to long buy a few inches. It does look like I could cut the mid pipe and it should fit. But then if I dicided to use a an FMF header will it be to short?? Anyone know the correct part number for an FMF powerbomb header. TC header would be fine

These are part numbers for a TC250 but I have them fitted to my 2012 TE310.

Those numbers are for a the older head. I have a red head.

Oh ya. No idea then. Maybe check with FMF but their website isn't very user friendly.

FMF website is tough to cross reference for sure. Normally I would have bought through a dealer that would just order me the correct stuff but I had a credit on my amozon account so it was no money out of pocket. I will buy the header through a dealer to avoid any headaches.

I just did, They tell me that the TC muffler I have is for a TC, And the Header I need is for a TXC. They say they dont make a TC header.

I will assume that the FMF TXC header will be the same length as the stock TXC header.

Question, Does anyone know if a 2013 TC header is shorter than a 2013 txc header.

My FMF 4.1 and FMF midpipe made for a tc are to long for the TXC header. The TC header would need to be shorter for this fmf muffler to work

What about the Akropovic TC250 header? I know for sure they make one for the red heads.

I have the FMF header and powercore 4 slip on and both will fit with the stock parts if required. The FMF TXC header was a little shorter than the stock but long enough to slip on either the FMF pipe or the stock canister. Very noticeable gains. The FMF header does away with the heat shield, but it sits in the chassis further. The slip on uses the OEM heat shield.

Can you describe the noticeable gains in a bit more detail. e.g. adds to bottom, mid or top... or gains everywhere. I think the top works fine for me but I could do with a bit more help lower down in tight single track and technical hills. Not abrupt power, just more capable off the bottom.
Does the Powercore 4 slip on keep the noise down comparable to stock or would you suggest the Q4?

Gains are everywhere throughout the rev range. From idle to the very top. There is more torque down low and when you come out of a low speed turn in a high gear at low RPM, the thing just pulls, no need to downshift like with the stock pipe. Why there are gains everywhere, the most noticeable gain is in the mid range hp. Mid range hits hard now (as it should). Bike takes less time to get into the power band. I mean the difference is night and day. If the pipe cost double, it would still be worth it.

To me this doesn't necessarily say how good the FMF pipe is, but how restrictive the stock exhaust is. Sound levels go way up. I would doubt my bike would pass a 96db test. But you can purchase the quiet insert to bring it back down. It slides right in and still provides much more power than stock.

The only downside to the Q4 would be the weight. The FMF with Powercore is WAY lighter than the stock system. I immediately noticed the weight relief when I rode the bike. The Q4 is heavy like the stocker to keep noise down. Personally if noise were that much of an issue for you, I would just get the Powercore with a quiet insert (sold separately) rather than a Q4. This way you have the choice to change the sound to your desire.

The pipe works so well (especially with a race tune), that my dealer was amazed and said he is saving his money for one as soon as he can afford it (he also rides a TXC310R).

Q4 is lighter than stock.

I tried the support staff at FMF for info as well. Their reply was rather standard and almost felt like they were telling me what I wanted to hear rather than quality technical support or direct user experience. But they did also say the Powercore is louder than standard.
If FMF web site is accurate, PowerCore 4 Hex is 5.2 lbs (2.4kg) vs. Q4 Hex of 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg). I think I will go with the Q4 for the sake of a little weight, quieter and apparently no material power difference.

Has anyone found a place that has the powercore or the Q4 in stock for a 2012 txc310? I've been looking to buy for a few months and no luck finding either.

FMF has them for $379. I got mine for under $300 at Dennis Kirk in January but I think I got their last one. I bought my header pipe directly from FMF, though. I got the whole system for under $500.

Would the TC Akro fit the 310 redhead ? What would the results be ? I am sure it would fit.

At first I ran with no map and it ran great. I then put in the race map and it ran even stronger.

If I was you I would just send the fmf back and get a pro circuit. I love my fmf but I knew it would fit before I even got it because it came from Zip Ty of Graffunders bike, but before hand I dealt with a company and tried and tried to get a custom exhaust made and if their is one thing I learned from the experience it is just go with what you know works. In this case you know Pro Circuit makes a great full system for your bike (or at least I think they do).

Pro Circuit is way overpriced. You can get a ti system from FMF for what Pro Circuit wants for a steel/aluminum setup.

Do as you like. But it most likely wont be as good as the Pro Circuit unit. Theirs a reason why the GNCC team used the Pro Circuit exhaust. If this were a 2012 bike I would say go fmf, but this is a 2013 and I think Pro Circuit offers a better system for the 13' then FMF does. Does FMF even offer a 4.1 for your bike? I don't think they sell one to the public.
