I'm stepping into the unknown and am changing the seals on 50mm zokes.
I belieive I have amassed the proper tools.
    Motion Pro 49-50 slider
    Oil level meter
    Fork alignment tool
    2qts 5w oil
    Moose seal kit

I guess I can use most anything to bleed the air.
There is a little rod holder that I will improvise, maybe with soft jaw vise grips. Could use pointers on this project. I'm going into it with the idea that its easy.

P8120189.JPG Roger that. I didn't order the bullet on purpose.
    Thanks for the vids.
Hows the Beta? Here's mine lately. New trials tires!

I've never seen a Trials Bike with a tall seat and they type of gas tank set up. Swap out the front tire for a knobby and install a regular high mount front fender and this bike will rival the KTM FreeRide...

The Beta was great but like a dummy I sold it and now I'm looking to sell a bike so I can buy another trials bike. As of now my trials riding is limited to cross training on my WR250 which by the way has the 50 Zokes on it. I have serviced them about 4 times now and once replaced the seals with SKF seals. The SKF seals have a lot less stiction and have lasted much longer than the stock seals. I had LTR do a re-valve to my forks and shock and could not be happier with how they work in the woods now.

I would also suggest spending the extra dollars and going with skf seals instead of the moose seals you bought. Those moose seals are bottom of the barrel in terms on quality, seal life and stiction.

Seals went really easy. Took off for a test ride, broke my collar bone into three peices on rocky hardpack. Dang.

I just hope to avoid surgery. Bent the pipe a bit and maybe tweaked the bars.

There are some issues with the 50mm Zokes that cause them to occasionally blow through the travel and put you on the ground. It usually happens on a rocky downhill. I sent mine to LTR and he corrected them and valved them for my weight and they are super sweet in the woods now. The first day I rode my bike when it was new it put me on my shoulder so fast in a 3rd gear rocky downhill I had no idea what had just happened. A year or two later Les at LTR explained to me what caused 50 zokes to do that so I sent my shock and fork to him and he really got it dialed. I have way more confidence going downhill than I ever did before. Before the re-valve I just couldn't trust them.

I think I can only blame myself. Uphill, sharp right curve, rocky hardpack, and trying to stay in front of my buds' new exc500.

    Yep.
The biggest disappointment was that my buddy drove all the way from wpb fl. to ride with me. I had been in full trials mode, having just completed my backyard trials course, but with the shock repair on the wr having gone so well I was anxious to feel wind in my face and show off the tiddler.
It was our first and last ride.

So I'm starting to reflect a little on my seal change. The manual stated the amount of oil for both legs was the same, I cant recall right now but I think it was like 630ml. One leg had a custom pvc spacer about 1.5". Since one leg had already leaked for a while I didn't measure the oil coming out. So I am wondering if there should have been a difference in the fluid level in each leg.
I really wish I could have spent more time checking them out but the ride was less than three mins.

Open or closed chamber? The closed chambers only take from 280-325cc in the outer tube.

The open chambers take a lot more but I can't remember how much volume-wise but 120-100mm from the top with the springs out fully collapsed should be good.
