I'm replacing my fuel line and was just wondering...do any of you use an in-line fuel filter or am I being altogether too anal? I get my fuel from pretty reliable sources, but I know that some of you SoCal guys (and gals) cross the border and get gas from some questionable looking places.

The line from the petcock to the carb is pretty short, so it would have to be a pretty compact piece. Anyone? :excuseme:

There are these 90 degree angle ones for short spaces. I bought a couple, but haven't tried them yet. Visufilter. $3.00

Thanks dirtdame. For the $3 investment, I ought to try that.

Use a filter also, as well as running the new premium gas through a very fine brass screen funnel before mixing it up. Often find bits of junk and dirt in pump gas. On a magnified carb inspection the pilot is almost always got stuff in it!

The tank has a rather nice filter built onto the petcock. But hey, whatever makes you feel good.

I did pull the petcock and found a good fine screen decent area. The test will come next time we have the carb off.

I like running a fuel filter.. It's a Visu-Filter.. Got mine from Scott Rocher but also available at Dennis Kirk: Part # 180204

Actually quite amazing what can collect in it.. Also a good visual check if you forgot to add oil (my gas turns red)..
