The fuel injection system on the 310 seems to be working quite well - for everybody else!!
The problem that I have is when the bike starts to heat up the engine revs hunt until the motor stops. The bike then needs a great handful of revs when starting or moving off.

The temp sensor on the barrel has been changed, a new spark plug fitted and all the plugs and connections have been checked, cleaned and properly fitted and the problem still happens.

The tests that have been done are:-
    1. Ensure that there is coolant in the system and the system isn't irlocked.
    2. With the engine cold - go though the normal starting procedure (ie pulling out the cold start knob etc and so on).
    3. Allow the bike to warm up and push the cold start knob fully home.
    4. Leave the bike on its side stand and wait until everything got hot. It did get hot and the hunting did occur and the motor revs hunted anywhere between 2100 and 1600.
By the time it got to approx 1600 revs it wasn't really spinning fast enough to keep going.

    Any ideas??

By the way the fan never did seem to start when everything started to get hot. (I only noticed this when testing the engine tonight)

    Mike,

If the bike is left idling for too long I believe the fuel injection will add extra fuel to try and cool things down so this would explain the hunting as the bike gets hotter. The fan should kick in if the bike is hot enough.

All UK dealers have the Ibeat software so the dealer can watch whats happening as the bike idles. If your dealer needs some help please tell him to call me, they've all got my number.

    Cheers...Dave
