Anyone know where I can get a replacement connector for attaching the pipe that goes from the fuel pump to the tank. I had the tank unscrewed and accidentally knocked it off the bike. It snapped off the pump power connector and the connector at the engine end. I'll bodge the fuel pump end and I guess could use a jubilee clip at the tank end but it would be nice to find the proper connector. Does anyone know what it's called?
Search the internet for husqvarna 610 fuel elbow. Here is one of the links http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/efi-fuel-pump-plastic-elbows-they-break-here-are-solutions.2541/ To buy the plastic elbow you can use the Sherco part 0805 " Petrol Bomb End 4.5", $42 from Ryan Young Products. http://www.rypusa.com/
The pump in inside the tank. Sounds like your asking for the fuel line that runs from the tank/pump to the fuel rail. I'd just order a new one at the dealer or find someone with a Safari tank that isn't using their stock line. Fuel in that line is already pressurized to 45psi. It may be tough to get the broken end out of the tank/pump. The electrical connector may be tougher to fix, a pic would help.
It's the black connector with the green inside in the last picture there that is bust. And the power connector at the tank end.
Oh and every pump in the factory is faulty so I won't be buying a new one. We've had one bike that has been with the dealer for 16 months and has gone through every pump Husqvarna had on the shelf and they were all dodgy.
You just made me run out and check. No thank goodness. It's just a shadow. Fuel is leaking out from the bottom half of the pump though. It must have gotten pulled out a bit. you can see it in the photo.
I don't think there's really an option but to get a new fuel line. The inside of the stock line has a hard teflon liner that is hard to seal up to with a new connector and would probably be too short once you cut the old plug off. I found this out when I installed a "T" for a fuel pressure gauge. You're lucky it didn't snap off at the tank side. It's a little tough to get the connector out of the pump even when it's not broken. I used several jewelers screwdrivers pushed in to get it to release.
Finally got a new fuel line. Bike started first time and ran for a while. I switched off and when I went to start it again I couldn't get it to start. It turns over fine and sort of catches but just doesn't fire fully. Any ideas?
Air need bled from the line? Maybe try starting and keep running on starter fluid for a minute? Make sure your battery is fully charged.
Finally got it going again. Good call with the battery. It sounded like it was turning over fine but it obviously needed a good topping up. Does have a slow drip of fuel coming from the fuel line at the pump end. When I turn the throttle it now cuts the engine. It used to do that just before I did the power-up and I'm hoping it's something to do with that.
I don't know how you guys even get that fuel hose attachment off from where it meets the pump...I can never seem to do it and, granted, give up quickly for fear of breaking it (so instead I disconnect the fuel line where it clips to the throttle body- that clip is easy to squeeze/manipulate- you can tell by looking at it how it works.)
Appreciate the tip. I'll probably continue to disconnect at the other end, seeing as this area of this bike (what with broken connectors, fuel lines, leaking/failing pumps) seems to be more like a porcelain doll than a dirt bike.
